Ian took the thin blanket cautiously, laying it under him as he lay down on his back. He gazed up at the stars as well, picturing the king's reaction when he didn't return the next morning.

"Can you tell me about your life before the assassin thing now?" Kat asked out of the blue.

"...Tomorrow. Im tired." Ian grumbled in reply, rolling onto his side so his back was facing Kat. Sure, he was simply avoiding the question, but he hated his past, and ha vowed not to speak of it again.

Kat frowned, but nodded. She too, closed her eyes and drifted off into sleep.

The next morning Ian was up as soon as the sun, leaning calmly against a tree as he watch Kat sleep.

Kat perked shortly after, sitting up and trying to stretch, but then realizing how soar she was. She groaned and rolled her shoulders, feeling her previous dislocated shoulder click in and out of place again. She yawned and stood, frowning at the soreness in her legs, and looking around for Ian.

Ian appeared behind Kat, tossing a loaf of bread down at her.
"Here."

Kat caught it and began eating frantically, forgetting how hungry she was.
"Should we head off then?" She asked, still munching on her bread.

"In a moment.." Ian said quietly, staring into the shadows.

Kat frowned and looked into the shadows also, curious about what he was looking at.

Ian stiffened as a man appeared, twirling a long knife in his hand.
"'Ullo there Kirkland. Seems like y' got to workin' there, didn't ya?" The man teased, and the redhead snorted.
"What do you want, Allen?" He bit back.
"Queen dont like the fact you've been gone this long, in fact..she sent me out here to finish the job." Allen rushed at Kat but Ian simply side-stepped infront of him and stabbed him in the stomach, twisting the knife before pulling it out.

Kat just groaned, terrified, but getting used to the idea that she'd never be 'safe' again.
"Great, just great. Now the Queen's out to get us. Now we have to travel that much faster!" Kat complained, scowling at her throbbing body. She couldn't stumble faster than a walk, and with Ian carrying her, they'd never keep ahead of the troops soon to peruse them. Kat looked around the damp forest, what they really needed was a horse.

Ian turned hurriedly to Kat.
"Come on, we have to move." He said, grabbing her arm and pulling her into his arms once more. Ian moved surprisingly quick with Kat in his arms, and headed to an old house on te outskirtsof the next village. He set her down, ordering her to go feth the horses from the barn while he went inside.

Kat nodded and stumbled into the rather small barn. Two horses stood half-asleep. One was large and black, with fire in its eyes and an eerie energy surrounding its stall. The other was smaller and more docile. Kat grabbed both of their reins and found the saddles sitting carelessly on the inside on the second stall. She smirked at how easy it all was and tacked the horses up. Once complete, she took the pair and lead them outside to where Ian stood.
"You should have to larger one." She said to him, handing him the reins and mounting her small, white, horse.

Ian wiped fresh blood off of his hands and threw a large sack over the back of his horse.
"Lead the way." He said gruffly, followin Katas soon as she began leading. His horse wasn't too hard to control once he let him know who was in control, the horse cooperated nicely.
