Rango looked back at Sorren.
"We don't have to..Just an idea." he said, winking.

"We can if you want to," she chuckled. "It doesn't much matter to me."

"hahaha, that's cool. Let's go then." he said, trotting off.

Sorren smiled and nodded, then trotted at his side contently.

When they got to the race, the dogs were barking threats at each other, challenging themselves. Then one dog saw Rango and Sorren and snickered.
"Hey WOLF. What're you doing here sweetie?" He said, pulling at his harness. Rango bristled.

Sorren perked her ears and glanced over at the dog. She paused, but responded to him. "Just watching the race," she said calmly. "I hope you and your team do well!" she said politely, not noticing if he was insulting her or not.

Rango looked at her, and calmed down, but the Dog wouldn;t stop.
"Hey!! Gorgeous! Come over here so My guys and i can get a better look atcha!!" the dog Howled, and his team burst out laughing, and barking. that sent Rango over the edge and the Shepherd attacked the lead dog.

Sorren seemed to completely disregard the dog, but she jumped to her paws as Rango jumped at the lead dog.
"Rango!" she called, knowing he could get in trouble.

Rango and the dog snarled and snappe, bit, and scratched at each other. Rango had an advantage, for he wasn't attached to a sled. the Dog yelped whe Rango snapped down on his neck, thats when the musher ran out.
Hey!! Mutt get away!!! the musher called, and pulled out a gun. Rango squeezed harder, but then there was a bang, and a seering pain went through Rango's head. yelping Rango fell, with the dog's neck still clamped between his jaws.

"Rango!!" Sorren barked and ran over to him, seeing him fall. "Rango!" she nudged him.

Rango whined, and shook himself out. Wobbily, Rango stood and the dog shook himself out too.
"That's what you-get!! Don't...Mess..w-w-with me!" The dog teased, pushing Rango again. Rango snarled, but turned, and gave up.

"Come on Rango.." Sorren said as she moved to his side and tried to lead him away from the teams and people.

Rango still rumbled, but followed Sorren out of there. When they were gone, Rango planted himself in the snow, and lay down. "Im sorry... You had to see that Sor. I-It's in my nature..." He appologized, ashamed.

Sorren flicked her tail. "No, no. It's fine." she said as she looked him over. "Are you alright?" she asked worried.

"Im okay... My ears are ringing though..." He said. the bullet had left a hole in his right ear.
