Ooc:// Yeah, good idea! Even though he'd be an old fart by then XDD
Pascal laughed loudly on purpose. "Are you serious, Rue?" he managed through his giggling fit. "He'd probably be either too old to help or want to hand us over!"
"I don't think it's a bad idea." Lark argued. "He actually may be able to help, even if he is old. And I don't think he works for the School anymore anyway."

Ooc:// LOL. And though I don't trust Jeb, I'll make him okay this once...for roleplaying sakes.
"Why would Max give me his address if he wasn't trustworthy?" Rue added. "Besides, where else do we have to go? We're being chased by Erasers, and Jeb is the only one who can help us some."
Kara finally shut the magazine, though regretfully. "I guess that means I can't finish looking at "This Season's Hottest Fashions!" then, huh?"

Ooc:// What about Ella? She's young enough to still be alive, right?
Lark crossed his thin arms and snickered. "It's okay, I don't think we can go shopping for them anyway, Kara." He turned to Rue, a grin still on his face. "Hey," he continued, "If you think it'll work, then I'm all for it."
Pascal flicked a pebble along the stone floor, his head resting on his other fist. "Fine." he grumbled. Suddenly, he perked his head up, glaring at Rue. "But if I'm right and he's still bad, I get first dibs on a sleeping spot in here!"

Ooc:// Good point. We could bring her in if you want. Oh, and would you mind playing Jeb? I never really got his personality....he seemed confusing. ^^ Heh.
-----
"Or we could beat him up and sleep in his house," Rue suggested with a small grin. "You can pick which bed you want to sleep on. Opposed to which spot of dirt."
Kara nodded at Lark's words. She wished she could have dresses like those...

Ooc:// Sure, I'll play Jeb.
"Even better!" Pascal stated, nodding his head at Rue.
Lark witnessed Kara's devastated face when he told her she couldn't have those nice clothes, and he got an idea. "Guys," he said, "If the Erasers are after us, then they know what we look like, right?" he glanced back at Kara momentarily. "Even though they can smell us, it would be harder for them to track us if we had disguises."
Pascal paused, a puzzled look on his face. "Disguises?" he questioned. "But we don't have money."
Lark grinned and held up Pascal's lighter, which Pascal always had in his back pocket. "Good thing I'm a world-class pickpocket." Lark announced as Pascal patted the back of his pants, wondering how and when Lark had stolen it. "Besides," he continued, "If Jeb turns out to still be bad, we'll need them sooner or later."

Rue frowned. She didn't want to turn into criminals...then again, they were being hunted by Erasers and twisted whitecoats intent on capturing and experimenting on them. Pick-pocketing didn't seem too bad in comparison. "I guess..." she agreed reluctantly. "Don't steal too much though. Jeb still might be able to help us. If he hasn't turned evil again."
Kara's face brightened again, her hands clasping togethet in barely contained delight. She threw her arms around Lark. "Thank you!" she said, practically bouncing up and down.

Lark laughed with Kara, her excitement seeming to rub off on him. "You're welcome!" he said, "I mean, we were going to need them sooner or later anyway."
"I wanna dress like a pirate!" Pascal announced happily.
"First thing's first," Lark told him, "We need to find out where Jeb is located and secure the area of any threats before we actually approach him." He turned to Rue. "Are there any clues in Max's journal saying where he might be?"

"Try an address," Rue said, giving a small grin as she showed him the page. It was in a small town in...Arizona, apparently. "It's gonna take a while to fly there, though. We should start tomorrow morning. We'll probably reach it sometime tomorrow, probably aroung the afternoon."

Ooc:// I just got the new book "Angel", and I'm about halfway through. It's freakin' creepy.
Lark peered outside. He hadn't realized that it was getting dark all too fast. He turned to Pascal, brushing his strawberry blonde hair out of his eyes. "How's your wing, big guy?"
Pascal extended his small white, black-speckled wing. There were still feathers missing from when the Eraser grabbed it, and a long, pink scar covered the naked area, but it looked like it was healing pretty fast. "It's feeling better." he lied. He didn't want to ruin everyone's good hopes for the next few days. "I should be able to fly tomorrow."

Ooc:// IKR? I couldn't stand that book. It was a bit better than Fang, but it still sucked. I suddenlt feel the urge to rant about it...but that would make for an extremely long OOC.... ---------- Rue gave a quick nod in Pascal's direction. The injury seemed to be healing quickly, like tthey always did. Yet another part of the bird-kid package, she supposed. "Alright, we should probably get some sleep. We're going to be flying for a long while tomorrow." Kara nodded, and nestled in a small dent in the floor near the wall. It wasn't as nice as her bed, but it wasn't that bad either.

Ooc:// Max is seriously making me mad now. She needs to make up her mind. And quit being a baby about everything. I mean, since when does the fearless leader go up into a tree to cry? Sorry, I felt like ranting for a sec too... And what's with Dylan singing in the restaurant? That made me facepalm in real life.
Lark pulled his backpack over and unzipped it, pulling out a blanket he had stuffed into it at the last second. He threw it at Kara, covering her head. "Here." he said, grinning. "You can have mine."
Pascal ripped open his hiking pack's velcro pocket and pulled out a folded-up blanket, using it as a pillow. He curled up in a ball, his head on his folded blanket. It wasn't big enough to cover his feet anyway. He tucked his wings back under his sweatshirt to keep them warm and shut his eyes.
Lark watched as Pascal seemed to take care of himself, and made a makeshift pillow out of a sweatshirt he had packed. Little troopers, they both are. he thought as he watched Pascal and Kara.

Ooc:// We should form an angry mob....get a bunch of cardboard wings, then attack JP's house with pitchforks and torches... ----------- Kara grinned, and nodded her thanks. She quickly covered herself up, her brown eyes soon drifting shut. Rue pulled out an extra sweatshirt, putting it on over her outfit. The temperature would probably lower during the night, and she wasn't willing to wake up with frozen fingers.

Ooc:// Sounds good to me I hated how that book went. I disliked overall any of the newer books. After the sun was risen, Pascal awakened. His eyes fluttered open, and he rubbed his face, as if wiping off the sleepiness. He looked over to Lark's spot and noticed that it was empty, and there was a weird, wild smell in the air. His sky-blue eyes widened in horror, but when he sat up, he realized what the smell was. Lark was roasting something on a spit near the entrance of the cave. Pascal crinkled his nose and smelled what he was cooking. It actually didn't smell that bad. "Morning, sleeping beauty." Lark chuckled as he smirked at Pascal. After a night of Eraser-filled nightmares and science-lab premonitions, it felt good to be the first one awake, to feel like he was depended on. He held up stick with some meat stuck on the end. "Grilled veggies?" he offered. "Awesome!" Pascal exclaimed, a bit loud, crawling over to the hot coals and grilled food. Ooc:// This is what Pascal's porcupine spikes look like: Just thought of this reference c:

Ooc:// IKR? James Patterson's newer books...are sucky, to say the least. It seems like he - or his ghost-writer - puts on minimal effort into the books now. I really hope they put more into the last one....
The picture looks really cool, by the way.
-----------
Kara's nose twitched. This was one of the best ways to wake up; to the smell of food. She shot upright, eyes shooting wide open. She inhaled deeply, and scrambled over to where Lark and Pascal were. "Do I smell breakfast?" she asked, grinning.
Something hard pressed into her chest. Rue groaned, feeling groggy and sleep-deprived, despite having just woken up. She shifted the position of Max's journal, laying it on the dust beside her. She had fallen asleep with it, Fang's blog print-outs tucked neatly inside the worn, leather cover. The scent of food hit her then, and her stomach grumbled in anticipation. Rue stood up hurriedly, walking over to them. "You making kabobs or something?" she asked.

Ooc:// I doubt that it's written by a ghost writer. If it were, then the real writer would have announced it by now, since the series has gotten so popular. But seriously, whomever is writing it has to tie in all those loose ends in just one book. It has better be good or I'm flying down to his house and having a good ol' chat with him.
"More or less." Lark answered without letting his eyes stray from the food he was cooking. "It's basically just some vegetables I brought that compliment each other when roasted together. And the nutrients in them should sustain us while flying long-distance." He licked his fingers and grabbed a kabob with his other hand, offering it to anyone who wanted it.
"Oh yeah." Pascal said quietly, remembering their plan. "We're going to Jeb's today." he groaned, letting everyone know how unexcited he was. Suddenly, he perked up and smiled grandly. "But then we get disguises, right?"
