Connor grinned."Yeah, Id like that."He said.
Sara turned and walked to him with a tiny smile."Welcome back by the way." she greeted.

"Er....thanks?" Cato said slowly, cocking his head. Actually, it was more of a hesitant question than a sentence.
"No problem," Kiera said, replying with a trace of a smile on her face.
Laika decided not to reply, but managed too raise the corners of her lips in a small smile. She padded over to the cave wall, sitting down.

Saras smiled fell a bit."You called"
Connor lowered his head and ripped off a bite before eating it. He found it surprisingly tasty, considering he had never really enjoyed raw meat before.
Dan shrugged his shoulders and followed Laika and sat down next to her.Like a gentleman, he waited for her to start eating before himself.

Kiera took a small piece near the stomach, savoring the flavor. Truth be told, she wasn't exactly hungry. But the sustenance and energy the food would provide would be useful, so she swallowed.
Laika grinned as she saw Dan hesitate, waiting for her to take the first bite. She didn't bother arguing though. She took a leg, eagerly eaiting it.
Cato cracked a small smile. He could feel his lips twitch, making even his smile seem hesitant. "Ladies first," he said after a moment, gesturing towards the prey.

Connor tore out a chunk of meat and gnawed on it in silence.
Dan smiled and started happily eating on another leg.
Saras face softned as sat down and took a small bite.He`s a bit rough around the edges she thought.But...

Kiera found that with a small piece of meat in her stomach, she was actually hungry for more. While he was chewing, she tore off another strip, eatinng it more quickly this time.
Laika had always been a fast eater, and gave a new meaning to the term; wolfing it down. It was soon gone, leaving bones with almost no trace of meat or fat on them.
Cato watched her eat for a moment, then took a chunk of his own off.

Connor ate while thinking about their situation for the first time since the night before, while stealing glances on everyone else, especially Kiera.
Dan looked at Laika with a bit wider eyes."Hungry?" he joked.
Sara did something she had never done before. She tried to find a way to start a conversation, but was unsucsessful.

Kiera noticed his glances, but pretended as if she hadn't, taking another small bite.
Laika grinned, nodding sheepishly. "A little," she admitted.
Cato ate silently, occasionally nodding whenever Sara presented him with a question. He could tell she was trying to strike up a conversation, but he was a dog of few words.

Connor took his last bite and swallwed it. Not feeling like eating any more."You take the rest" he offered Kiera.
Dan chuckled."Well, its no wonder consiering how hard youve worked the past twentyfour hours."
Sara eventually ran out of idle subjects to talk about. On impulse she asked. "Why did you join the racing team?"

Kiera felt her face warm somewhat, and looked up at Connor. "Why are you looking at me?" she asked. The question wasn't accusing, it was asked out of curiousity.
"Very pleasant company indeed. Why, there's grouchy Cato, hungry Dan, shy Kiera.." Laika let her voice trail off, and smiled teasingly.
"It's not incredibly interesting, I can say that," Cato said. "I was Grant's third dog, the first two my parents. My mother died from an illness soon after I was born and my father...found raising me very awkward. He wasn't sure what to do with me, and left me to spend most of my time with humans. Grant trained me to be on the sled team, and we formed a bond. I've never felt the urge to do soemthing other than race, and I doubt I will."

Connor blushed."I just asked myself the same question. I think its because I...like you..." he mumbled. Suddenly he froze, realizing what he just said.
Dan chuckled."You forgot mighty and brave Dan"
Sara nodded."Thats kind of sad. So you never really got to know any other dogs before you joined the team?"
