Amaya felt a sharp pain in her leg, a bullet grazing it. Somehow, she kept running, although she was trailing crimson blood in thick blots and spatters.

Roki slowed. "Amaya!" he called. Amaya looked at him, still running as fast as before. "Skull is shot, and Nika got hit too!"

THis day just keeps getting better, Amaya thought. "Keep running Roki! I'll help them," she called out. She turned, sending up a small cloud of dirt as her paws skidded in the ground. She ran for Nika and Skull, wanting to close her eyes tight against the sight of their blood. She pushed aside the thought of naseau, stopping beside them, once again skidding. She nudged her nose under Skull and staggered under his weight as she helped to carry him.

Nisha snarled and howled "Talon!" Talon nodded and the both darted towards the hunter, they let out a loud snarl and ran and doged shots, attacking him from both sides, nisha crushed the hunter's arm in her jaws and Talon snapped and clawed the gun, until it was destroyed. Nisha snarled and clawed the man's face, before she and Talon ran back to the pack, helping the pack into the trees and helping the wounded. Nisha looked around and heard a loud crack, she yelped and found her hind leg fought in a steel iron trap. She snarled and lunged, nawing at the metal around her hind leg. Talon snarled and ran to help his former mentor, slamming his fangs down as well they both tore open the trap and he helped Nisha to the trees. "NIKA!" Talon howled and darted to his leader's side, he picked up Nika and slid Skull onto Amaya. "Get to the trees." he barked at Amaya before bolting to the trees with Nka on his back.

Amaya nodded, running. The women, who had watched the scene of her husband getting attacked, picked up the gun herself and shot. Amaya gasped as the bullet hit her, entering through her back, barely missing Skull. It lodged somewheres near her heart, and it took everything she had to hit the line of trees until she was out of view. Then she dropped, pain coursing through her.

Roki, smelling blood, gasped, recognizing it to be Amaya's. He turned, brown eyes widening as he saw her, lying in a pool of her own blood.

Nika shivered violently, her heart pumping quickly as she head Talon's howl."Talon..." She felt herself be lifted up and moved towards the forest, the green of the grass and trees seemed smudged together in a big mix of color."Talon..I lov-" Her weakness and pain shot through her, forcing her to stop talking."Take...Out...Bullets." She rasped, she knew she had only been hit once but some other dogs must've been hit also.

Amaya fe;t only burning pain, the sensation of blackness fading slightly as a small muzzle nudged her black side.

"Amaya?" Roki asked, scared for his mentor.

"Roki," Amaya managed to rasp out, sides heaving with the effort.

"Amaya, where are you hit?" he demanded.

Knowing the small pup must want to help, Amaya managed a weak smile. "You can't help."

"Yes I can!" Roki said, tears brimming in his brown eyes. Amaya was almost a motehr to him, as he had been an orphan before. She couldn't die. Not now.

"No, you can't," Amaya said, breaths becoming shallower. "ROki, don't be sad when I go," she said, voice becoming weaker.

:No!" Roki cried out. "You can't die! You're like my mom. You've always been there for me, and now I want to be here for you! Don't leave!"

"Listen Roki," Amaya said. "I can't hold on much longer. Listen to me," she said. ROki obeyed, tears streaming down his face silently.

"Roki, I am your mother. I-I gave you up because I didn't want the responsibilty, and was to ashamed to tell you." Amaya said, feeling releived as she said the words.

ROki felt shocked. How could she be his motehr? Yet the resemblances were clear. She looked exactly like him. "WHo's my dad?"

"Hiro is," Amaya said, her voice quieting anymore.

ROki remembered the muscled dog, and pictured him in his mind. "Amaya," he said, then corrected himself. "Mom. Don't go. Please."

Amaya gently shook her head. "I have to Roki. I can't hold on much longer. Just remember," she broke off as she struggled to regain breath. "I love you." Her breaths died out then, life fading from her eyes.

"No!" Roki cried out, burying his head into her fur.

Talon gently slid Nika off of his back and sofltey licked his cheek. "Shhh..Nika, dont worry, Im going to take care of you." he licked her again and then sniffed her, finding the wound he licked the wound until he found the bullet, closing his teeth around it and pulling it out. He dropped it in the dirt and looked back at Nika. "Im so sorry i didnt protect you." He layed down next to her, his silver fur stained red with her blood, he pressed closer to her, stopping the blood that was pouring from her wound.

Nisha stood up on three legs and ran back out into the fire zone, she howled, drawing the woman's attention onto herself. She barley doged a shot and snarled as one went into her already injured leg. She felt the warm slick liquid feeling of blood running down her leg and she nudged a last couple of living dogs into the trees and then felt another sharp pain in her flank. She leaped into the trees, panting heavily as she looked at her hind right leg. "*****....im not going to be able to use that..." she muttered as she looked at the two bullet wholes and the trap wounds on her leg.

Nika looked up at him, smling weakly "I-I'll be okay Talon, as long as your here." She rested her head under his chin and felt his body heat run through her.She felt the bleeding stop in her wound and her energy slowly being returned to her almost lifeless body."The pack must move Talon, humans will only come so far intot he woods and this is to close to the opening." She needed her pack to be safe, that was her job.She closed her eyes, a voice filled her head 'Find yellow flowers with thick green stems, they will help stop infections and help you regain your energy, find themm now Nika.' Her eyes popped open, they were a bright yellow instead of their normal green."Find yellow flowers Talon, with thick green stems, get as much as you can and quickley." Her voice was tense as she told him to look for the flowers.

Talon nodded and darted off to find some, making sure that Nika was still in his veiw though. He found some of the weird flowers and barked to his leader. "Nika! I found some! What do I do?!" He looked down at the flowers and then to Nika again.

Nika rasped for air "Feed them to every injured pack mate, then give one to me if there are any left." She looked around and saw Skull laying on the ground, his eyes wide with fear and pain."Make sure Skull gets one.." She whispered faintly.

Talon nodded, picking up some of the flowers he gave some to Skull first, then gave some to pretty much everyone in the pack. He went to give Nisha one but she growled at him. "What are you, stupid Talon? Give it to Nika." Talon shook his head. "She told me to give one to everyone else before herself....even if i want to give it to her." Nisha growled at him again, this time motherly though. "Give it to her, a flower wont help a wounded leg. Besides, im getting older." Talon noticed the grey hairs around his mentor's muzzle and nodded. "Thank you Nisha." He nuzzled her head in a quick thank you and then bolted back to Nika, dropping a flower infront of her. "Everyone has one." He layed down infront of her and nudged the flower towards her more.

Roki lay still on top of Amaya, tears soaking into her black and white fur. He let loose a sad howl, filled with morning, then collapsed back on her body.

Nika ate the flower quickley, waiting for the pain to cease."Thanks Talon." Shakily, she stood up and felt her energy come back and her senses become sharper."Where is Roki?And Amaya-Oh no.." Nika tried her best to ignore the throbbing pain in her side as she ran towards Roki's howl as fast as she could manage."Roki!" She screamed out his name, what happened to her friend, and her mother's friend?She finnaly found the two, Roki was sobbing and Amaya was motionless "A-A-Amaya?" She felther tears well up in her eyes as she rushed over to the dead wolf dpg's side "Mother would be so proud of you Amaya..You died while protecting your pack, her pack.." She whispered weakly.

Roki lifted his tear-streaked head. "S-She said that, that she was my mom. THen she-" the sentence broke off as he took a shuddering breath. "Died." He finished the sentence with a hollow voice.

Nika's eyes widened in shock as she grapsed Roki as tight as she could manage, she just needed someone who felt the same loss as her, and a friend an Roki was that, but mixed in one."She died bravley Roki, and she always treated you like you were her son, and now she an dmy mom are watching over us now..forever and always." She whispered, shaking a little.
