Rue moaned softly, opening one violet eye slightly. She felt as if she were one big pile of aching fur, she could feel bruises, and the possible fracture on her left hind leg. She opened her other eye, her head throbbing./

Nook picked up his head, and all he saw was the concrete wall and bars of a cell. The bars were made of blue electricity. He stuttered, "Atta... it... uh...duh...V-VE-VETCH!!!!!!!"

Vetch could stand up now, but not quite yell or roar. "Where are we?" he said in a raspy voice.

Rue forced herself to sit up at the sound of Vetch's raspy voice. "I would be guessing prison," she said, her stomach sinking with dread. She had noticed the bars, which wouldn't have been to bad of a barrier, if they hadn;t been coated in lightening.

"Let's just see how strong these 'bars' are..." said Vetch as he approached them. He spun around and barely touched a bar with the tip of his tail, but it had bursted into flames the second it came in contact.

Nook jumped and landded on Vetch's tail, putting out the fire. "They aren't strong, but they're dangerous, all right."

"Tell me about it," she said, taking a healthy sized step back away from the seeming to nearby bars. "Vetch, are you ok?" she asked, memory hitting her. "You got stabbed in the throat, I saw it," she said, the last part soft and quiet, as images of him laying on the sand filled her mind. She shook the thoughts away.

"I'm better now," Vetch choked out. "I'll just have to keep my voice down for a while. Let it heal. Along with my tail, now."

"Sorry to break up your little love-fest," Nook said. "But here comes a lizard."

A dark blue lizard with a smile but angry eyes approached the cage. "Unit 88," he began with an unusually deep voice. "You are wanted for testing." With that, he materialized lightning ropes onto the necks of all three of them. "Do not try to escape," the lizard continued, "Or we will make those collars jab blades into your throats and kill you. So please come this way."

Rue stared at the dark blue lizard angrily, tired of all this. It probably wouldn't be the best time to think up something witty and insulting to say though, not with the possiblity of blades being rammed into her neck, whcih suddenly seemed very exposed.

"Now please follow me." the blue lizard said as he ceased the lightning bars. He then turned down the hall and expected them to follow him.

Vetch boldly stepped forward, trudging down the hall after the lizard. As he walked, thousands of other animals in hundreds of more units shouted and reached their paws through the bars, trying to touch the trio following the lizard while yelling, "Save us! Help us! Get us out of here!" Vetch got so irritated that he lashed out and bit one of the paws that reached for him.

Nook uncertainly followed close behind Vetch, shrinking away from the frightening scene of the trapped prisoners. He then trotted for a little bit and hid behind Vetch, scared of the screaming jailbirds. "Vetch," he squeaked, "I'm scared..."

Rue brushed her tail against Nook's side comfotingly, sympathizing with him. "It'll be ok Nook," she said softly, hiding the fact that things couldn't possibly get any worse. Well, Vetch could be dead, she thought, then shook that thought away.

The dark blue lizard came to a bright room and shoved the animals in. The room was lined with black lizards, all bigger than regular.

The lizards all let out a roar the second the animals entered the room. Suddenly, the lights went dark.

"What's going on?!" Nook whined, shaking profusively. Suddenly, he felt the sheen of metal brush up against him, so he screamed and jumped onto Vetch's face.

Vetch peeled Nook off his face. "Just 'cause you're my brother, doesn't mean you can do that."

Ooc:// They're not brothers, they just call each other brothers.

"Sorry." Nook squeaked. "It's dark and scary..."

Rue's breath was fast and shallow, her cat eyes enabling her to see shadowy outlines, but nothing clear. She struggled to stay calm. "It's not too bad Nook," she said, struggling to keep her voice level.
