But if we're going to make a comic, we will have to show everything, aren't we? Or will we make some parts into comics and some others stay textual? (that would seem strange)

We are hopefully going to make a comic eventually, yes, but right now we only have a few artists. The 2nd Pilot might run anywhere from 50-80 pages, which is a lot for the number of artists we currently have. If we can convert only a few scenes into comic pages, (as to not overload our current artists) we could use those pages to attract other artists to the VS, and by then hopefully we'd have enough artists to fully convert the script into a comic book. At least that's the plan anyway.

Only if we can't get enough artists to do a full script-to-comic conversion will we only do a partial conversion.

Why don't we do some 'promotional shots'? Like promotional pictures for this.

Do you mean like screen-shots as if from a movie trailer? Or a movie ad poster? Can you be more specific? I had intended the first comic pages done to serve double duty as comic pages and promotional artwork but I wouldn't be opposed to doing other types of promotional material as long as it doesn't overburden the artists.

I was able to read the second ep of the pilot a few weeks ago. However I forgot the suggestions I was gonna give. >< I'll need to reread it. School kept me away from this place for so long D:

All I remember though about the suggestions I was planning to tell you guys were mainly on how an aircraft behaves or something of the sort. Very trivial I think. Not really that big of a suggestion, just one that could help with it being more believable. ^^

How many illustrations per episode are we looking at? I went back through the 2nd episode and tried to think out what would be the best parts to illustrate. I think if I had a number I could cut it down. What is everyone willing to draw and what artists are still on board? Do we have someone who is good at backgrounds?

@Opus:

I'm sorry to hear about you and your mom's situation. I hope the treatments are effective and your mom makes a quick and full recovery! I wish you all the best and hope to see you back here soon!

@pwp:

I guess 3-4 pictures per episode would be alright. We can always add more later. I'm in the process of editing the script... I gauged it to be roughly about two hours worth of material. I was going for about 90 minutes, and 180 pages is a little long for one story, so I may try to shorten it, but then again it's not really a huge deal. As far as what artists are on board, it's hard to say... As far as I know, eclipse and godzillawolf are still on board... I have a feeling that art will be done in fits and starts because this is a voluntary project and everyone has lives outside the project that they can't ignore. Which leads me to-

@everyone:

How much artwork should be done before the 2nd pilot is released to the public? We have to keep in mind that we may have a hard time getting artists to help until we release the entire script. Then, the script itself may inspire artists to create illustrations for the story, especially if we do a few pictures initially as an example of what we're going for.

Thoughts?

I'm, unfortunately, not very good at live action artwork. Or anthro characters ether. I could try, but I don't know how that'd turn out.

Anyway, I'd suggest make some good art for episode one, then release that part of the script. Then maybe that'd attract attention for the other episodes.

Godzillawolf, Good idea! I am okay at antro characters and will do what I can but I do have a job and family to take care of.

Yes, that is a good idea! I'm almost finished editing episode one and two, so it won't be too much longer now.

Also, I'm preparing to PM 23 artists that have posted art on the main TS site to ask if they'd be interested in contributing any artwork to the VS. With any luck a few of them will be willing to help out. I plan to send the PMs as soon as I've finished editing the first two episodes so I can share them with the potential artists as a sneak peek of what's been done on the writing side of things.

If all goes well, all this should be done by the end of the week. *crosses fingers*

Perhaps I could help out with a few drawing, but they wont be digital as you know I have no pc. and the quality decreases when you scan them on the ciber cafes since they always have crappy scanners.

send me some of the scenes well no more than two please I have to much going on right now

Thanks, I appreciate that! You're welcome to help out, but I'd hate to add anymore stress to your life than you have already. I'll send you a scene or two in a week or so, just remember, there's no hurry. Your personal matters must always come first. Maybe you could just do some pencil line art/sketches and another artist could digitally ink and color the art.

Again, thanks for the help, and I hope your mom makes a rapid and full recovery! About financing the treatments, have you tried getting donations from churches? I don't know about where you live, but where I live, churches practically outnumber gas stations (seriously). Or maybe you could get financing from somewhere like cancertreatmentmexico.com. I'm just trying to think of some options you could try... I wish I had some money to send you, I'd really like to help. :-/

Sorry. I've been disappearing a lot. :? Anyway if you need any help with art stuff I'm willing to help out.

Status on the overdue interior of the 3D Sea Duck. It's very tough matching the interior and exterior based on the blueprints since they don't quite add up. I'm trying to figure out a way to make the two mesh together without making the inside look too different from what we know.

Don't sweat it, we all have lives outside of this forum. Thanks for the offer to help! I may be sending you a few little jobs soon... like we need a TSVS logo for instance and some "cover art" for the 2nd pilot. (PWP, you can help out with this as well if you like.) There's a few other minor things, but I'll get to that later.

About the 3D Seaduck, don't worry too much about getting the interior exactly right. Unless there's a glaring difference between your version and the one on the show, I don't think anyone would notice. I'm sure you'll do an awesome job in any case!

@everyone:
The PM's are almost ready to send to the 23 some odd artists on the main site, so barring any unforeseen occurrences, they should be sent by tomorrow night. (As tempting as it is to make one PM to send to all the artists, I'm trying to personalize the messages for each artist. Okay, so most of it is the same for everyone, but the personalized portion does make the whole process take longer because now I have to write and proofread 23 messages rather than just one. If it brings in more artists though, it's worth the extra effort.)

Also, I just finished the spring term, so I'm gonna try to work on the VS every chance I get for the next two weeks until the Summer term starts. With any luck, we can have the 2nd pilot released before then. I'm going to send the first two episodes that I've edited to the artists I PM to try to convince them we're serious about the VS. I just hope it works! *crosses fingers*
