Buddy cracked up laughing at Gail, then stopped when he saw all the dogs looking at him. Well, he thought, why not make more of a show out myself? With that thought he turned and leaped into the lake, coming up totally soaked.

As Buddy and Gail were playfully splashing each other in the water, a dark creature emerged from what seemed like thin air. Buddy seemed a small bit frightened, but not too crazily.
"I know this clown." Togo whispered, so the creature wouldn't hear. "Nobody knows his name, but I hear it's Shadow, because he's so mysterious."
"Who's a clown?" Shadow said. His voice was deep and scary. Togo bared his teeth and snarled, but the black and red animal seemed all but afraid. He strode toward the lake and glared at the dogs in it. He opened his mouth, about to say something, when Dakota and Togo both pounced on him. Buddy, Gail and Aaron watched in horror as they fought and wrestled, but in no time, Shadow had both Togo AND Dakota pinned to the ground.
"Who're the clowns now?" Shadow grinned.

Shadow didn't hurt anyone, and he got off Togo and Dakota. "I'd never hurt anyone. Don't be afraid." He said. Despite his friendly dameaner, his voice was terrifying and could send shivers down your spine. "I only hurt others if others hurt me first." He said. Throughout this entire conversation, he never once smiled, and he never wagged his tail.
