"Oh, come on, he's not that big, Star." Kaltag glanced off towards Nikki, who seemed to be shaking his head slightly as he looked towards Kaltag and Star. "Alright, so he may be just a bit smaller than your mom, but isn't your mom a bit on the small side too?"
Nikki nodded slightly at Kaltag's last point. "Look, Star, you've got nothing to worry about as long as we stay friends with Steele. He'd probably end up picking on me, too, but do you see me worrying?"

Kaltag nodded slowly, thinking over what Star had said. He wasn't sure how old dogs were supposed to be before they became sled dogs, but he bet Steele could start training already. It was one of the things Steele always seemed to talk about between picking on others, anyways. "I think he's probably old enough to start training."
