Okami wagged her tail and smiled brightly. "Sure" She was ready for a good hunt.

Wolf Luna, Kodiwolf !! Get ya wolves over here!!

Orion nodded, and spoke up, "Okami and I are going hunting for you. We'll be back shortly." he turned and trotted out of the cave entrance, then turned and wound dnown the narrow, rocky path. He could hear Okami behind him.

Okami brushed her tail along the bushed they passed. Her legs stepping lightly on the soft ground, trying not to annoy or suprise any food.

When they finally hit the solid and safe ground again, orion sighed with relief. he glanced at Okami before heading forward into the forest, flicking his tail for her to follow. "We can go this way... I know where there are some rabbit and mice dens around here." He walked on, ears pricked for the sound of rushing water that the two wolves would hear in a few minutes. It was dark, and Orion squinted through the bushes, sniffing.

Okami followed him silently. Suddenly she stood still and growled at Orion (It seems). She tackled him to the ground just as a bullet wizzed right past her chest, one that would of killed him. Another shot rang and blurred into her shoulder, as her yelping rang in the air. 3 hunters were out there.

"Okami!" Orion snarled as she leaped on him. He knew it - they were traitors - all of them! As he moved to claps his jaws around Okami's leg, he heard a bang. Another bang, and something whizzed past the other wolf's shoulder, splicing it open. Okami leaped away in pain. Orion's ears went flat and he jumped up. "Okami, go that way!" he howled, ducking anotherr bullet. They wouldn't be able to last long - hunters seemed remarkeably right-on target and the only way the two were still alive was because of their dodging of the bullets. He nodded towards the sound of the water. "We'll cross, and hopefully they won't follow!" He darted forward, leading Okami. He knew Aroura and the other were safe, because of how hiden his densely thorned and bushed home was.

Okami held her yelps and followed Orion as bloode gushed from her shoulder rapidly.

The river was only a bit away. Orion could hear it with his ears. "COme on Okami, you can make it!" he panted as he neared a corner - and saw the great river, blue in the night nut sparkling wit the reflection of the moon and stars. "Over the other side," he nudged her forward, "And you'll be safe." The river was calm here, a small waterfall could be heard about a mile away upstream. Orion's ears twichted. He walked into the cold water, nudging Okami ahead of him. "Quickly!" he glanced over his shoulders, hearing their shouts and speaking. There was a heavy mist in the air that Orion had noticed earlier. It seemed to have settled between the two wolves and the hunters. Orion isghed in relief, and moved through the water, watching the shallowly-breathing Okami. "Come on, almost there!" He nudged her forward for a third time, wondering if the hunters would lose them in this fog.

Okami trotted forward as best she could. Faintly the hunters whistled and suddenly thier dogs' hound call swept through the forest. Thier compact bodies looking for the wolves scent. As Okami walked foward a quick flash back shot across her eyes of Orion's betrayed look. She looked back at him as tears sprang up. The dogs gave up and whimpered back to the hunters. "Ah we'll get them again later but now lets get otta here."

"C'mon," Orion climbed out of the water, heaving Okami up after him. Panting, he looked back across the icy and fogged river. He looked around. "You alright?" He was truely scared. The blood from the gash in Okami's shoulder flooded out, and he looked around hopelessly. He glared through the fog, twisting his neck around and around. "Can you still walk?" He nudged Okami.

"I'm... so sorry i.. i didn't mean to cause you to loose all-" She fell heavily to the ground unconsiuos.

Orion's eyes widened, and he looked around desperately. He couldn't call out loudly -- the hunter's dogs, though gone, would still hear them. He glared through the fog, sniffing. No one was anywhere around. When he turned to look back at the unconscious Okami, he noticed a particular part of the fog that was growing more and more white, and morphing into a shape. Orion knew what it was. he stepped around in front of Okami, and asked, "Sister?"

The fog finally was in the form of a small, female wolf. The eyes glowed white and pearly in their sockets. The ghostly figure did not answer, but stepped forward. Orion moved out of the way as she placed a paw on Okami's bleeding shoulder. Eventually, Okami's hard breathing slowed, and the silvery white mist creature stepped back. She bent her nose to Okami's wound, sweeping her head from the she-wolf's shoulder to her elbow. The wound healed slightly, the blood had stopped pouring. A long scar still remained.

The misty wolf spirit raised her head, and nodded to Orion. "The stars are with you. As are the Borealis." Before Orion could ask anything, the mist creature turned and trotted away, enveloping herrself in the clear mist - and then evaporated.

Again the forest was dark as night had fallen over them. Orion was confused. The stars weren't suppose to come to other's aid - only his. Why had that counted, when he had failed so dismally before? And the Borealis? Who was that? If he was the mortal of the stars, then who was the light mortal among them?

He looked down at Okami. That she-wolf had been a star spirit. But was Okami a Borealis mortal? maybe the Borealis' couldn't come to help because they were doing something else. Orion looked up. Through the canopy of pine trees, he could make out the glowing, shimmering lights above them.

He sighed, nosing Okami's side. "You there?"

Okami slowly opened her eyes. She was breathing normal again. She quickly looked over her wound and nuzzled Orion. She looked up at him and said"wh-what happened?"
