[Balto, Complete] So wrong, but it feels so right [Part 1]

Max senced something wasnt right with just the way she sounded telling him all that, before he said anything he stopped himself to try not to make things wrose. Looking over towards the shops as they hit town, he wondered if anyone was awake at all. He was puzzled when he looked over towards Biltz with the look on her face at first, she seemed shocked about something. Trolling over to her, he asked "Everything ok, Blitz?" Tilting his head a little at the question, but his stomuch answered the question with a load growling sound.

Grinning a bit he replied "I guess i am, i dont think i've eatten for days or at least anything big." Looking around and following behind, his mind was still baffled about what she suddenly looked like that but he guessed it was just because of yesterday so he didnt say anything.

Slyth tried to eat fast but he found that the food took alot of chewing and it wasn't exactly the kind that could just slide down his throad whole. So his plans for seaking out Blitz weren't looking too good right now. His jaws worked furiously, chomping down and swallowing the food. A few times he thought he was about to choke but all he had to do was take a few sips of water and the liquid carried the food down.

After a few minutes he had to stop and breathe. Was he really this eager to see her again? There wasn't any use in it when they would see each other probably later on that day if she wasn't headed his way now. He shook his head. He was nearing the edge of desperation. Or at least that's how he was acting. Taking a breath he resumed his eating. He was hungry and he didn't think he'd be able to fill himself up in just a few minutes. He was really just hoping that Blitz had gotten his scent or something and had made for him.

There was somethings she probably wanted to say to him and he couldn't blame her. Like he had any right to dump that on Blitz last night? She probably would have been happier if he'd just bit his tongue. His feelings for her were probably nothing more than a case or puppy love or something like that. He grunted at these thoughts. Wishing his stupid head would leave him alone for once.

The femme's mind returned to the present situation and she nodded to Max. "Yeah, I'm fine. My mind's just on multiple things at once, it's nothing to worry about." She smiled again at him and then snickered at his stomach's loud protest. "It seems your belly would agree with the suggestion of food."

She shook her head and then continued on toward Slyth, though Max probably hadn't the slightest clue why she was headed in the direction she was. At any rate, they would turn the corner and arrive where the other dog was dining hurriedly and Blitz would pause to inspect the scene before bursting into laughter. "Um, Slyth, you've got a little something on the side of your mouth."

Blitz was of course playfully teasing him, though he did have a tiny speck of something there, what she hadn't the faintest idea. But even as she giggled, her heart seemed to skip a beat once, maybe twice. In annoyance, she told herself, Now cut that out, no time for silly whims and thoughts right now, least of all while Max is here. He doesn't need to get involved in this travesty of events.

When she finished annoying herself inside her mind and laughing at her silly friend she then asked, "Anything left I might be able to nibble on?" It may have seemed odd that she was acting so normally despite the events of the previous night, but such was her nature when there were others around and a secret was to be kept. When in doubt, put up the wall of secrecy and deny, deny, deny.

Slyth had sped up and had began wolfing down his food once again, getting eager that Blitz was getting closer. Her scent grew stronger and stronger until she was right on him. He grinned a bit when he heard her voice. Luckily, she had made a joke and given him a reason to smile at her.

After licking his lips he took a few steps away from the food and held out a paw toward it. "Yea, help yourself. I was about to come looking for you. Your scent kept getting stronger so i figured you already were looking for me." He then noticed Max. He hadn't noticed him immediatly but he'd been a little more focused on Blitz. He hoped he hadn't given anything away. His 'problem' right now was supposed to be kept a secret. As far as any of his brothers knew, he was nothing more than a love sick dog that had the hots for Blitz. It would just make everything even more difficult if news of him and his sister spread. He trusted that Blitz could hold her tongue, and he wasn't about to say anything either.

"Hay Max." The red paint just then came to his attention "New look?"

Max laughed at her reply "Yup, it sure does. I'm starving!" He grinned and once again followed on behind Blitz starting to wonder where in the world she was leading to. As he got they he saw Slyth chowing down like he's never seen before and it made him laugh. Out of nowhere a sudden feeling of displacement came over him, something didnt feel right being here for some reason to him but he didnt look into why he had the feeling. Smirking at his brothers joke and looking over at the paint mixed into his fur "Real funny, Slyth. It just kinda happened, its a long story."

Letting out a little sigh before looking back towards the road then back towards the two in front of him he grinned "Well i guess i should be leaving, dont want to bug you two. Besides i gotta get this paint off soon before mom and dad get back" He began to walk off towards the road again, he's stomach growled again but he ignored it saying to himself "I'll just get this paint off first and then come back for something to eat.. while knowing in his mind he lieing to himself. Making his way to a gaint store hose he grabed the handle with his teeth and pulled to the right. The water rushed out and Max stared at it thinking to himself before putting the side of the paint in. As he rubbed it against the water nothing happened and all he did was get wet, talking to himself out load "I'm gonna need help for this aint i.."

As the got moved away and was about to leave the owner came walking out, an old man who's face looked mad, apparently they needed the water that Max was using because it ran the store's generators and since he used it the store was out of energy. The man grabed a boot and started chasing Max, Max himself started dushing off to escape the man. After a little the man threw the boot at Max, being tired, hitting him on the back but only causing him to whelp and nothing more.

Blitz laughed at him, her tail wagging before she glanced at the food and then at him, unsure at first. She didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable, eating after him, but then again, friends did that sort of thing too. What was the harm? "Thanks, I'm famished." Digging her muzzle into the scraps, she began wolfing them down, but in an almost graceful manner, as if she were suddenly self-conscious about the ravenous wolf inside her. She paused only once while inhaling the sustinance, looking up as Max padded off and barking a goodbye before finishing up. When she was satisfied, she lifted her maw from the scraps, licking most of the bits stuck to her lips off, but missing a small portion.

Her breath caught in her throat again as she moved her gaze to Slyth's and she smiled, but let it drop after a few seconds. She was doing it again, she was allowing her emotions to get the best of her, she was allowing them to once again make things much more complicated than they should be. But how could it be so horribly wrong when she was feeling this way?

"So..." she started, glancing around behind herself quickly, "How, uh, how is everything?"

Her mind screamed at her in a blind rage and her heart pounded away in her chest, both components of her personality becoming thoroughly ticked off at one another and thus the war ensued. Her brain kept hurling insults at her heart because it was too soft and weak. It wanted to simply forget this whole ordeal and get back to the racing career she'd worked hard for. However her heart kept sending retalliatory reprimands to the mind because it would never allow the creature they both inhabited to actually enact on too many of her feelings, especially those that confused it. Of course, Blitz herself couldn't hear this unseen war, but she definetly felt the conflicting of her mind and heart, mainly in the sense that she was currently unable to make a decision one way or the other.

"Listen, I'm sorry that I didn't really have much to say last night, I just, I'm not even sure what the right thing is to do. It seems all of that has been clouded as of late. I do know that I do feel something, something incredibly strong for you, I just...I don't know what else to say, much less do." She smiled back up to him, but it was a sad kind of smile, indicating her own confusion. There was a desire there, a desire to do something, but what she still wasn't sure, and even more so wasn't sure she really wanted to find out too quickly.

(Thanks ^^; btw, its kinda a useless post but i'm trying to keep Max active.)

Max continued to run off until he hit the middle of town again. He emitted a sigh, laying his head down onto his paws, while watching the towns people walk around, and some even gave him a little pet on the head. Water dripped off the one side of fur onto the ground forming a little puddle around him. He got up after a while and shoke it off, walking towards the meat shop where he would normally go. Waving his tail across the ground he let his tongue hang as he looked at all the different meats hanging. He pawed at the window and whimpered just like a puppy would hoping to get something only cause he felt as if he shouldnt go back to where the others where.

After a while of begging the shop owner walked out throwing him a large and juicey steak saying "You get out of here now boy, got that. Now scram." Happily walking off Max moved to a empty coner and nawed on the steak until he was full to a dogs content. Grabbing the uneatten half, he walking around town looking for a place to finally got rid of this stupid paint messing with his fur. After a while he gave up, laying himself back down on the sidewalk and closing his eye's for a quick rest while saying to himself "Well.. Its still earily i can tell but i already give up. I cant find anything to get this off.. Mom's going to kill me." Sighing right before falling into a light snooze.

Slyth watched Max pad off with some amount of ammusement. The fur on his side looked like it was sticking out in little spikes like he'd tried to rub it off or something. He wondered just what exactly he had done to get that on him. Looked like paint to him.

He didn't have much time to think about it though. He heard Blitz eating away at the food and felt uncomfortable. He had nothing to say to her now. Despite how eager he had been to see her again, he couldn't think of anything to say or do. He just sat there, listening to Blitz have her fill while he desperatly tried to come up with something to say. It was like he'd gone brain dead or something.
He found that he was fiddling around with the snow in a similar mannar that Blitz had been the other night. Moving his paw around in small circles creating a small ring in the ground. Blitz must not have had a large appatite because she finished eating after only a few minutes. She stepped away from the food and turned her eyes toward him. He looked up to her as well, wondering if she had anything to say to him. But he saw that she, too, had gotten some of the food on her. Her tongue had gotten most of it up but it'd missed some. His cheeks lifted slightly and pointed to his own cheek with a paw to show her where she'd missed some.

Afterwords, she finally spoke. Her voice carrying across the wind and into his ears as he listened intently to what she had to say. Despite their conversing, he still continued with the ring forming in the snow with his paw. He wanted to move closer to her once she gave him that sad smile. He knew instently when he saw it that he shouldn't have ever told her. He should have known better than tell her something like that. Now it was like he was torturing her. She wanted him, and he wanted her. But he was just putting himself out there long enough to lure her in and then hurt her by cuddling around with Saba infront of her. He sighed.
"I know Blitz. Im beginning to wish i hadn't even told you last night. I know what you mean but im just as confused about this as you. I mean, i know what's going on here, but i don't know what to do to resolve it."
He stood up and took a few steps closer to her so that they didn't have to talk loudly to hear each other. This really was something that would be best not over-heard by wondering ears.

She had wiped off the speck of food that had been on her lip quickly as soon as he'd pointed it out, then returned her gaze to his eyes. But when he mentioned wishind he'd never told her, and odd expression raised to the surface, a frustration of sorts. "No, I'm actually kind of glad you told me. It would have been far better than feeling for both Saba outwardly and me secretly. It would have tortured you on the inside out. At least this way someone's there to go through it with you. I'll be here with you, how can I not be after all?"

She grinned faintly and then, hesitating, moved toward him a little, feeling out the her own impulses instead of thinking them through for once. It seemed the heart had taken a lead in the crusade over Blitz, but the war was surely far from over. The dappled paw moved over to his, not placing itself on the other just yet, but resting near it and softly touching his. It was the most movement she could muster at first, for the racer had never quite felt such a strong emotional pull towards another this way before. She was quite green in the ways of romance.

Finally, instead of merely touching, the paw found its way to rest on his for a moment and she smiled. This feeling, the feeling that despite everything else that may be going on in the world, everything for at least a fleeting moment, that to her could have lasted an eternity for all she knew; it was nice. Icey blue hues constantly searched his for awkwardness or and uncomfortable feeling, though she hoped there would be none. Her heart beat almost a million miles a minute, the adrenaline pulsing through her pushed by a strange mixture of fear and excitement.

"Maybe, we could get an outsider's opinion? Someone who wouldn't be biased either way for or against anything we would say. Do you know anyone like that?" Unfortunately, she did not know anyone who might be able to give such types of advice without putting some spin on their predicament. She sighed and felt tempted to move even closer and lean her muzzle into his neck, but her brain halted her for a moment. What would anyone say if they saw them? The gossip would be all over town before lunchtime, but then again, gossip about them would be far better than gossip about Saba and Slyth, wouldn't it? Finally she thought, Oh heck, why not. The worst he could do would be to shove me away with extreme predjudice and the odds of that are somewhat unlikely now. So, with breath held at first, she moved closer to him and embraced him, wrapping her neck around his and closing her eyes, praying the the worst didn't happen.

"Sorry, i don't." Slyth uttered lowly. It might have helped, but he doubted it'd help very much. He had seated himself not enirely next to her with a little space between them so that they weren't exactly crouded. But Blitz still took a few paces toward him. The strangest look had come over her face. It suggested she had no more clue what to do than him. Which he already knew.

But he did feel a little bit better now that Blitz had told him she was okay with him telling his secret to her last night. He still, in a way, wished he hadn't told her. But at least now he couldn't beat himself up about it. If she was okay with knowing it, then there really wasn't any reason to feel bad for telling her. It'd just be a waste of time really. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, trying to figure out something else that could help them, however slightly. Nothing was coming though. But he was kinda only half focused on it. His nose was full of the scent of Blitz.

He couldn't place the smell on anything in particular but he knew he liked it. Then he found that he wasn't thinking at all. Something soft had brushed against his paw and it didn't take any brain power to figure out what it was. The were pretty much in almost the same postion as last night again. The only differance was Blitz was beside him and her paw was on top of his. He felt his heart skip several beats, or maybe it was just beating to fast for him to feel it. Then she did something he didn't expect. She. . . nuzzled him? She was leaning against him with her muzzle burried in his fur. He felt a tremble course through him and he was able to speak one word.

"Blitz. . .?"

Not that he didn't enjoy it, but he didn't want to get too carried away with her and end up two-timing them. Was it possible to have two soulmates? He didn't know but he felt like that now. He turned his head toward her and his tongue flicked out, licking her nose in an affectionate way before he could stop himself. Once he'd found his voice again however, her spoke.
"Are you sure this is the way to go?"

Blitz almost laughed as she shook her head against his neck. "No, I'm not sure. But I think...it feels right." Her smile deepened as his tongue flicked out and caught her nose affectionately, causing her to blush bashfully at first and chuckle. Her nares widened as they breathed in Slyth's sweet aroma and it was like a little whiff of heaven for her. The hybrid buried her nose into his fur more just after whispering a soft, "I do believe I've fallen head over heels for you, Slyth." The words would have been just barely audible, but she didn't care at that point.

For the time being, most, if not all of her rational thought seemed to have vacated the premises for more reasonable lodging. There was but a fleeting trace of even her cover story left, kept at hand in case they were caught cuddling like this by any passerby, or by those who knew the whole situation, which admittedly were a very small number of people. Couldn't be too careful though.

The wolf-dog had made a promise that it appeared she couldn't keep, it seemed. But then, the promise had applied when it was just Slyth and Saba who had been deeply in love with each other, and as much as Blitz hated to be the one destroying another's happiness, she couldn't ignore Slyth's presence with her now, or that he'd confessed a deep rooted attraction to her the previous night. Nor could she continue to be so emotionally constipated when she knew that she was not alone in the feeling of possible love.

A restlessnes stirred a little inside of her and she felt the urge to leave the side street and relocate elsewhere, away from the wandering eyes of such chatty dogs as Dixie, Sylvie and Dipsy could overhear them. But she made not mention of this to him for the moment, almost fearing that if she so much as blinked too roughly, the utopia of the moment would vanish in a puff of white smoke. She inhaled his scent again, keeping her eyes shut tight as it sank into her memory as far as any could go. She moved her maw once so that he could hear her speak, but then replaced it soon after. "I'll follow wherever you go."

Slyth felt a little up-tight knowing that he was doing something with Blitz that would only further complicate his problem should Saba see them. If they were going to continue, it would be best if they moved on to somewhere where they wouldn't be seen. The sound of Blitz's voice in his ears was enough to convince him. He was kinda just following her lead. He wanted this just as bad as she, but she wasn't in a relationship with anyone. At least, not offically.

He was cuddling around with her right now like he didn't have a mate but Saba was there at the back of his mind. Reminding him that he needed to end this before it went to far. He tried to fight it off but the air he breathed in and the fragrance it carried was purely Blitz's scent. It was intoxicating and he realized that all he wanted to do right now was spend the rest of the day with Blitz. Doing whatever impulse told him.

He would have serious problems afterwords, but he also found that he didn't really care right now. Blitz was all over him, pratically giving herself away to him. That last thing she said had stirred some thoughts in his mind but he doubted he'd be able to go that far knowing Saba might be looking for him. His tongue flicked out again and licked her nose once more. He was vaguley aware that he kept doing this like it was an addiction. One that he didn't even want to quite. He turned his maw toward her ear and said quietly "Then follow"

Having said that, he stood up and (reluctantly) had to take his weight out from under Blitz who had started to lean more on him than just her head. He took a few steps and glanced back at her to make sure she was following him and turned out of the side street that had been hidden in for at least a few minutes now and headed out towards his dad's boad. The boat wasn't his destination, but it was the direction he need to go in to get where he wanted.
That clearing he had tracked Blitz down to. It looked hidden enough that someone would have to acctually know they were there to know to find their scents.

The whisper sent delightful shivers running up and along her spine, though why she wasn't exactly sure. She nodded to Slyth and leaned off him so that he could lead the way to wherever they were going now, very much relieved to be leaving the crowded little town for a more quiet and secluded place. Her curiosity was piqued as they neared the boat, though she didn't think they would actually be heading intentionally toward his father. But when he passed it without much regard to it, her mind was a little more rested. Then the woods began to near them and she realized just where they were going, back to the clearing. Where part of this had started.

Smiling, she picked up the step just a little, moving beside him instead of behind and brushing up against him in a flirtatious manner, grinning mischeivously. "Here, huh?" Her smile was much more genuine now, much less sadness hidden behind, almost none. Finally away from wandering eyes, where there was no chance that anyone would find them, at least unless they knew the forests well.

She ducked through the bramble that was scattered here and there, keeping him in sight at all times until her paws finaly settled on the soft ground of the little glade and she seated herself, awaiting him, wondering what his next move would be.

Slyth raised his eyebrows at Blitz as she got a little bit more energetic when the woods entered her sight. She had caught up with him and now walked side by side with him. Something about the way she spoke now left him at a bit of an uneasy state. Surely she didn't expect to go. . . the whole nine yards, so to speak.

He didn't want to leave her dissapointed at the end of this and he started to wonder if maybe he'd been leading her on toward that conclusion. If he had been, it hadn't been intentional. It was also possible that she just wanted him enough to start getting her hopes up. If he wasn't mates with Saba, then he would have no problem with it. He knew he felt something fierce for Blitz and she'd admitted the same to him. It was just the thought of how guilty he'd feel around Saba afterwords.
As soon as he'd broken contact with Blitz to lead her off to the small clearing that he knew would be cut off enough to prevent wandering eyes to spy on them, he head had cleared up. He was able to think a little more clearly.

His paws stepped out into the openness of trees. The small field of short grass, half melted snow and flowers greeted his eyes. At least he had chosen a decent place, rather than a dark secluded area. The smell of Blitz's sweet aroma tickled his nose and lifted his cheeks again. His eyes looked up to hers and he took a few steps toward her. As soon as he was in range again, his tongue licked at her muzzle. He just loved the way she tasted.
His paw lifted up to her chest and rested itself against it. Almost like a sign that he possibly might want her on her back. He pulled the paw away after what it ment registered in his mind. Why was he able to do this with Blitz, but everything he could do to suggest that made him panic and back out of it. "You know i do love you Blitz. Im glad you got curious enough to see what was wrong with Storm awhile back"
In truth, it hadn't been all that long ago. But from this side of things, it seemed an eternity ago.

OOC: Oooooh....This is turning out like my Grandma's soap operas...lol, but really, I could have Mira come or something, she can be trusted with a secret y'know. But really I got nothin so until I can get osmethin to work on with either...like I said tohugh Mira could have followed them. Saba's probably just in the house, lounging about. I'm still here and I've been keeping up with the posts. So someone PM me if soemthing comes up.
