Alfred heard Arthur stir slightly, and he sighed.
"As friends!" He insisted, but he couldn't fight the hidden feelings he had for Kat. "I love you both too much..I'm going to bed now..!" Before Kay could answer Alfred shut the door and crawled into the bed.

Kat gritted her teeth when the door was slammed in her face. She balled her fists and shuffled back to her room, fighting back the tears that were coming.

Arthur sat up upon Alfred's entry and eyed him suspiciously.
"What was that about?" The Brit asked with a yawn. Alfred smiled and wrapped his arms around him.
"Nothin'.."

Patch was still awake in their room, watching TV. "Didn't know you were still up." Kat mused, tucking herself into bed.
"Can't ever sleep." Patch huffed.
"Yeah, join the club." Kat sighed, snuggling into the pillow, imagining it was Alfred's chest.

.::The following morning::.

Alfred woke up later than usual, but his arms were still around Rthur, who was sitting up reading.

Patch had ran off to go to the bank early. Kat woke up with no one beside her. She huffed and sat up, rubbing her eyes.

"Morning muppet." Arthur chimed, not looking at Alfred, he just kept on reading.

Kat shuffled out of bed and drug her feet to the kitchen. She veered right and landed on the couch, flipping on the TV and blinking atthe colors on scren.

"Hey Arthur..?" Alfred asked quietly, laying his head on Arthur's arm and looking up at him. The Brit looked down with a faint smile, setting his book aside.
"Mhm?"
"Do you love me?" Arthur blinked at the question, before chuckling.
"Of course I do Alfred. More..than you know." Alfred nodded, his thoughts still on Kat, which made him feel oddly guilty.

Kat finally got hungry, she yawned and scuffled into the kitchen, where she poured herself a hot cup of coffee. She added the cream and sugar, then took the coffee back to the couch.

Arthur frowned, and lay down to look Alfred in the eyes.
"Why do you ask?" He wondered, inching his face closer to Alfred's.
"U-Uhm no reason!" Alfred said quickly, jumping back and rushing out of the room to get some coffee, leaving a confused Brit behind.

Kat stirred her coffee with her fingers idly, her eyes dull and thoughtless. She thought seeing Alfred again would make her happy, but it hadn't. All that Alfred had done was made her hurt, she frowned, wishing she didn't love him.

Alfred idly walked over to the coffee machine and made himself a cup, trying not to focus on anything but his coffee. His hands were shaking like mad, and started worse when he heard Arthur shuffling about in their room to get dressed.

Kat plucked her fingers out of the hot drink and sucked on them, savoring the bitter taste that would wake her up.

"Um, Kat..." Alfred said quietly, turning to look at his friend.
