Crane is one of the writing men of the castle, and was changed into a block of paper wrapped by a red ribbon during the curse. He is less intelligent than Webster, but is kind and full of good feelings. He often stays with his faithful friend Le Plume as he serves as writing paper. Like Webster, he is terrified by the Beast. When the Beast is angry, Crane hides himself from him, and would prefer to be devoured by the wolves than to face up with the Beast.
