I can feel your rapid hoof beats
As I run through the snow,
through the slush, the ice and snow sheets,
We must run, is all I know.
I feel my heartbeat increasing,
And my breaths coming faster.
What I fear is your heart ceasing,
Mine is not the master.
As I run, I fear for you,
For danger's on our tail.
You have not even a clue,
That our future may be pale.
And as I run, I want to cry,
I fear you'll go away,
I wish that I could try
To avoid us separating in such a way.
As I start to slow my pace
And my energy gets low,
I realize what's ended is the race,
And how I will miss you so.

Very heartfelt and emotional. It just makes me sad to think of that
time when Bambi's mother was taken To this day I am in my late
twenties and I still cry when I see or think about that scene. This poem was beautifully written and it creates both a heartwarming and heartbreaking vibe at the same time. You have certainly got my vote, mate. Well done. |
