Beyond Limits Chapter 3 Unstoppable

The formidable site was over and Kira knew for sure that even thou they were the same age she felt like Sedna was her teacher and was there for her. In Kira’s eyes Sedna’s knowledge was never decreasing.

The two walked on far into the North were the weather changed every month as they noticed.  Snow specked across their pelts. Winter got stronger and blew the deer and the caribou in the wrong direction. After pushing their cold bodies to the fierce freezing wind. They noticed that the North was no way this cold. Having to force back into the blizzard. They fought thru the snow storm for several cold months. Kira gave out many times before the storm reached its end.  Both cold but alive made it into the lighter snow, the sun shined once again and peace was with them. Relief followed over the two. Once again resting and heading north. If the messed up this time they would never make it out alive again. They both received many injuries. Kira would die next time around.

Making their way into the North once again.

“Sedna do you think there’s some where we can get a drink?”

Sedna didn’t wanna disappoint her friend. So she nodded and walked on.

Lucky for them they found a frozen stream. Approaching the stream. Kira looked disappointed to see it was frozen. Sedna taped the river. “This will be easy to crack.” Stomping her massive strength into the lake, the ice shattered. Pulling her hoof out of the water.  Kira bend her head to get a snip.

“Who goes there!?” a shout sounded

Sedna faced the sound snorting. “Show yourself!”

Kira stared not ready to fight looking at the sound hiding behind Sedna for protection.

A full grown female caribou appeared from the trees her tail high and her antlers large. She seemed fond of them. Holding her head high showing them off.  Sedna wasn’t impressed by this female’s true passion to her head but Kira thought different. Whoa those antlers. Sedna snorted “What do you want airhead?!” Sedna was shocked by the cow’s reaction showing she’s upset by her tone she used.  The brown cow’s ears pinned back and her head wasn’t so high anymore but rather low. Kira busted out with I’m sorry she didn’t mean it mam. Sedna glared at Kira as Kira stepped up next to Sedna. Sedna couldn’t believe want she just heard. “Caribou are tricking they find travelers they well do anything they would with them by tricks.” Sedna said. The cow said “I thought yall were like that.” Kira answered her “Oh heavens no, were travelers just like you. Where going to the Nor-“she was cut off by Sedna’s heavy Shhh. “What she meant to say was were going to the…..”

“That’s were I’m going to. To the North.”

“Would you like to join us then?” Kira asked

Sedna was disappointed and having to carry another animal in her welling.

“I would love to, names Kapix by the way.”

“Nice to meet you, I’m Kira and over there is Sedna. She isn’t too fond of newcomers. You’ll get use to it I hope.”

The sun fell in no time. “Time for bed don’t u think Sedna?” Sedna was studying a figure in the distances. “Mhm, go ahead….” Sedna crept off into the night. Lurking her way to a sleeping cow. Sedna’s eyes widen, stepping back onto a twig. *Snap* the doe shot up in fear she looked up at Sedna cowering down. “Shhh…. It’s alright.” She looked about Sedna’s age maybe a little younger. The cow stood “Y-You’re not going to hurt me?” Sedna shook her head no and gave a smile to her. “What are you doing here all alone?”

“I was traveling to warmer lands for food and water and fell asleep afterwards.”

“Ahh…. I’m heading North with a couple of others, would you like to join umm?”

“Winona, and yes please… I need company.”

“Sedna” Just noticing Winona had two different colored eyes. No wonder she wanted company. Sedna prayed that night to keep her elite group safe from all harm.

In the morning Sedna was the first to awake. She watched the others sleep while she rested her head. Winona laid close to Sedna then any other. Kira and Kapix usually talked to one another.  This group made her remember the good times with her brother and Taggarik playing and always together. Remembering the snow flower fields. Taggarik’s soft brown fur to hers while they laid there. Tears swelled in her eyes but they didn’t fall that would only show weakness she stood shoving her way thru the bushes trying to forget then but to remember now. A growl and a roar were sounds from a few miles away. The others awoke from the heavy cry.

“What was that?” Kapik asked

“There’s only one way to find out?”

“Come on.”

The four ran towards the direction. Pushing thru the thicket. “I don’t think we’ll ever find it.” Kira worried “Ah come on… have faith.” Kapix commented. “Umm guys…” Winona eyes widen and jaw dropped. “Bear!” Kira screamed. “Run!” Shouted Kapix. “No!” I’ll distract the bear, yall head around up the hills, and I’ll run thru here to find y’all.” The others didn’t have time to think of another plan they ran off. Sedna stayed as the bear pulled the meat from the rabbit’s bones.  Sedna stepped closer to the bear watching her friends dash thru the hills. Sedna wasn’t paying attention when the bear caught her in the back leg with his giant claws ripping her pelt, the scars blood dripping and poured down her leg and into the deep snow. Sedna couldn’t give up. She backed up tossing back and forward dodging his strikes. The bear caught his claws into her ear almost ripping it off. Sedna couldn’t see her friends anymore she dashed off into the distance the roar of the bear was getting closer it was following her with great speed. She couldn’t let the bear get her friends to; she took a sharp turn into the deep woods losing her trial. The roar was no more but she was lost.
