The morning came. The sun was just rising over the mountain peaks.  Sedna blinked her eyes open stalking the area for Kira. Closing her eyes after seeing she wasn’t there. Sedna incited standing calling for Kira hearing nothing she ran a few miles to find Kira near a close by cliff looking down it. Sedna approached her softly looking at her with confusion. “What are you doing here?” Kira got startled by Sedna not knowing she had walked up. “I’m watching the clouds.” It was true right at those cliffs were low clouds that’s how high they really were. Breathing could be hard but that didn’t stop the beautiful sites. “Come let’s get started.”  Kira nodded “We should start North would make more sense.” Sedna started towards the North.  The two traveled thru the snow conversation was going on and on. Until they came to an open field. Kira trotted out without even thinking about what could happen. Sedna wanted to call for her friend but it was too late. A bullet darted into her top back. Kira was in much pain bawling she fell. Sedna had to improvised she couldn’t believe what she just saw. Darting out she bit her friend on the ear dragging her to the thicket as a bullet shot above Sedna’s neck. Kira’s back dripped blood as so did her ear. The night was among them under a few seconds. Sedna laid next to her friend keeping her warm telling her everything well be alright don’t you worry. “Shhh… you’re fine…. Shhh.” Kira rose her head looking at Sedna. “How can you been so calm? How could you take this softly?” I’ll never understand Sedna.” “Shhh….” She brushed Kira’s forehead with her’s. “If we approach things in a negative way life will pull us down.” The catastrophic scene was almost over.  Sedna stood searching for a typull leaf. A leaf that she healed herself with.  Sedna smelled for the deep green leaf.  Returning in the midnight she held the leaf bud in her jaw, dropping it by Kira’s side. She rubbed her face to Kira’s telling Kira it was her. Sedna gripped the bud in her jaw rubbing it to Kira’s wounds. The grotesque mayhem was finally over when Kira said “Thank you, it feels much better.” Sedna kept her friend protected and safe by rubbing the bud on her wounds, helping her walk to get water and bringing her food.  After months pasted now it was winter again Kira could walk but not far. Her back bone was still shattered and broken but it was healing in great pace.  Kira’s erroneous pulled their journey back a full year. Kira walking into that field could have jeopardized the whole mission but Sedna didn’t think of it that way. She thought of it as a sign. That night Sedna was wondering if Kira’s back was healed. Sedna tapped sharply at Kira’s back. Kira just looked at her friend in confused ion. “Good, you’re doing great progress.”

Later that night the girls conversation went on.

“What were you like as a child?”

“Um…. Well I was an okay child I guess, lost my family really…. My mom…. Dad…..brother….. Best friend all because of a selfish damned herd” rage over took her manner.

Kira was shocked by her passed being very close towards her own. After calming her friend down she sighed. Telling her story soon after Sedna’s.

Midday sun was bright. The snow danced upon their faces. Kira stuck out her tongue taking in a few snowflakes. Giggling the two danced around the thick snow. Sedna was shocked on how childish she was being but she never got to be much of a kid with anyone so she enjoyed every second of it. Sedna liked to be around Kira she noticed. Sedna frozen like she just saw a ghost. A million thoughts ran threw her mind. What’s a friend? Do I have one? Is Kira one of these so called friends? And she was Kira was truly a friend.

The two found themselves at dusk in no time. Following a back trail. When Kira fell into one of man’s traps. Sedna slid almost falling also. Sedna couldn’t believe how she didn’t see this simple trap. She was vulnerable as a child but not at this age. She didn’t understand how she missed it but at this moment it didn’t matter man was on his way and would kill Kira sooner or later. Kira was cowering looking up at Sedna. “Please… leave me here….” Sedna couldn’t believe what she heard her say. “No! That’s quitter talk! I’ll get you out but sadly I can’t at this moment man has to pull you out but I promise you well get away safely. Kira’s thoughts were thumbing in her head just like her heart in her chest. What if she doesn’t come back? What if she leaves me?  No! Sedna saved me once she’ll do it again. Sedna stepped back into the thicket waiting for man. Sedna was getting agitated at man for their late show up. Late that night they heard a sound of a cowzilla. Bright little suns shined into Sedna eyes when the heavy heinous truck bedraggled its way thru the thick mud. The wheels hobbled the mud lose. The three men jumped out of the truck.

“Dang man it’s cold, out here.” Opening the driver’s side sitting.

The other men chuckled looking down in the hole Kira was in. “My My My what do we have here?”

“She’s a pretty one to.”

“Let’s sale her.”

“Yeah your right good point.”

The men walked to the back of the truck for the net lifter.  Rolling the hook down to grip the net holding Kira. Sedna’s patience was growing shorter and shorter each pull. Kira was being pulled inside the trucks cage. Sedna bolted out ramming the two men Kira jumped from their grip and into the woods followed by Sedna.
