The snow Cracked and broke gathering together onto her hooves. Her cream pelt shined in the midday sun. Hearing large steps behind her twitching her ears she frozen not with fear but in stress. Donno was flowing her once more. Sighing she turned behind to see no one but to hear and smell everything. She stomped her hoof deep into the snow she glared at one tree that had a Donno behind it. Donno emerged from behind the tree disappointed in his failure. “What could you possibly want this time Donno?!” she mocked “Sedna that’s no way to talk to your future leader!” Stepping up to her. “Mhm… ok….. Like they really make a wimpy a leader.” She rolled her eyes as she faced him. “No!” He didn’t think he deserved this nonsense looking after a teen cow. He thought he needed to be Leader not babysitting some brat. “Yeah …..Ok.” Sedna turned off to continue her long walks. “Oh no you don’t they sent me to get you back so you can marry the prince!” He bolted in front of her. Sedna was outraged from his behavior he gave her. “That prince isn’t worth my time; he can go waste his life on some dippy headed cow.” She flicked her tail signing out of this conversation. Donno wasn’t done speaking words when he got cut off by a small bold whisper. “You cannot make her choose her fate.” The two looked back to see a grey deer standing tall and proud she looked like a well deserved leader but the real question was why was she in the snow down here. Sedna shrugged walking off while Donno was distracted by the odd deer. Sedna looked back seeing nothing. Her ears shot up to hear heavy footsteps running this way. “Donno!” she whispered to herself. Turning her attention to a spot of rabbit tracks all moved together. She jumped onto the tracks following the rabbits trail. Galloping she stopped to see nothing was behind her just a pile of tracks. Sedna laughed to her brilliant plan. Turning forward to see the same deer as before in front of her. Sedna was impressed with her speed. “And where do you think you’re going?!” Kira pressured her.
“Nowhere.” Sedna lifted her head making the dear feel a little less powerful.
“That’s what I thought.” She laughed
Sedna nodded “What are you doing here? Deer aren’t in these lands.”
“I was forced here by man.”
“Understood….”
“I’m Kira!” the doe was thrilled to say so
“…….Sedna……” Finally the silence was broken by Sedna’s late entry
Sedna started to walk pasted her but the doe didn’t wanna say goodbye so soon. “Why were you running away from him?” She continued “Even though he’s sooo annoying.” Sedna was annoyed by this deer following her. “No kidding.” Her head lowered and drooped for the deer just didn’t stop asking questions.
Night fall hit. The deer had followed Sedna all afternoon.
That night the deer said something that caught Sedna’s attention. “I lost my family to Sedna….” Sedna rose her head looking at Kira. “What happened?” This was Kira’s first time telling her own story. She took in a deep breath. “I was almost two.” She began “Then men came…. And destroyed us all. Chaos is what it was….. Just…. Plain…… Chaos.”…. Sedna bowed her head praying for Kira. Kira understood what the cow was performing for her. After many tries Kira finally got Sedna to tell her story. Sedna’s eloquent expression was there from beginning to end. Sedna told her endured story. Kira was showing nothing but implicated. When Sedna was finished solemn fell over the two. It was obvious the two understood each other’s deep pain. “I just wish we could somehow…. Avenged man…” Kira commented “There nothing but harebrained brutes.” She continued “Maybe we could if they didn’t have all those henchmen.” Sedna spoke. They both were confidant of one other. “I could help you find your brother!” Kira begin Sedna eyes widen “Do yah mean it?!” “Yah!” Sedna hasn’t smiled like that in a long time. Now there intentions were clear. Sedna was staring at the ground smiling. Kira nudged her gently smiling. “We start at dawn.” Kira spoke. “We must rest at once then.” Sedna looked around to find a deep thicket. Creeping her way towards it lying down. Kira layed a few feet away giving the cow room to rest.
The night was dark by the midnight falling closer and closer. The wind blew stronger and stronger seemed a storm was among them. The stars shined down strongly and boldly upon the frozen night. The whistling wind awoke Sedna from her nightmare. She breathes were strong she was afraid standing she looking around hearing a calling sound. “I’m here, I’m here.” Sedna couldn’t figure which way it was coming from she started down the snowed rocky grove, ears pulled back she snorted to an open filed in front of her. She felt it was a trick on those so called men. She wasn’t giving herself up on such a foolish trick; she backed her walking down the grove looking back once shaking her head. Returning back to her rest, she layed farther away from Kira, watching over her making sure she’s not that cold. She saw she wasn’t shaking falling back asleep her tail tucked in her ears back falling deep into a midnight sleep.
