It was a rainy early April day. A doe with antlers sat on the somewhat wet ground. Everyone in the north forest came to see her. They all came to see her because she gave birth to 2 fawns. Prince Harmony stood beside her. The doe was his wife. Everyone gazed at the fawns. One raccoon asked “What are their genders Seline?” “One is a buck and the other is a doe.”

Said Seline. “A doe!” Harmony bleated. Everyone gasped.

 

“Seline you know the rule” Harmony yelled.

 

“What rule?” questioned Seline.

 

“Every doe born in the north forest must be killed but, if not, you will have to get killed.” Harmony bleated.

 

“Oh that rule.” Seline sighed.

 

After one hour of standing to see the fawns, the animals got tired and left. Seline named the buck Leon and she named the doe Zaina. Seline thought of hiding Zaina in a place where doe fawns will not get killed. That place was Bambi’s forest. Everyone is always happy there. Seline knew that Harmony would check if Zaina was killed.

 

I had been a week since Zaina and her brother were born. Harmony was going to check on Seline the next day. So that night Zaina followed Seline to Bambi’s forest. When they got there, Seline put Zaina in a bush to hide in.

 

“I will visit you soon Zaina.” Seline bleated.

 

“Why are you leaving mother.” Zaina said.

 

“I need to do it and goodbye Zaina!” said Seline crying.

                                               Chapter 1 Abandonment

 

The next morning was horrible because of all of the noise. Birds were chirping and Friend Owl was yelling “STOP YOU FOOLS! Then, Zaina heard lots of thumping sounds.

 

“Come on girls.”  Said a female rabbit.

 

“We don’t want to see grandma mother!”

 

“Well it’s too late.” Said another female rabbit.

 

“Run for your life!” said a young female rabbit.

 

“Wait for me!” said Thumper

 

            “Mother, I see a fawn.” Said Bumper

 

            “Hello I am Bumper and these are Bixbi who is my mother, Thumper is my father, Grandma Hare who is mean, and my sisters Hopper, Patter, and Mumper.” Said Bumper

 

“She is called Mumper because she is always sick.” Said Patter

 

“Would you like to be my friend Bumper?” Zaina questioned.

 

Definitely! Exclaimed Bumper.

 

“Bye little fawn.” All of the rabbits said.

 

2 hours later Zaina smelled a grotesque smell. Then she saw who made the smell. It was two skunks teaching their son how to spray.

 

“Ew” Said Zaina loudly.

 

“Who was that father?” Said Bambi the skunk

 

“I think it was a deer.” Said Flower

 

“Let’s check it out.” Said Bluebell

 

“Well it was probably far away.” Bambi the skunk said.

 

“Phew.” Said Zaina

 

“Maybe I will explore the forest.” Thought Zaina.

 

So Zaina was looking around the forest. She saw many things. One of the things was a fallen tree where a porcupine lived. The porcupine was mean because he wouldn’t let Zaina across the log.

 

“Oh look a fawn.” The porcupine said.

 

“I will walk across this log without you stopping me.” Zaina bleated.

 

“Why don’t you take the long way fawn?”

 

“Fine!” Exclaimed Zaina

 

While walking away from the porcupine, Zaina bumped into a big buck. That big buck was no other than Prince Bambi.

 

“Where is your mother?” said Bambi softly

 

“She abandoned me Bambi.” Said Zaina.

 

“Come on little fawn I will take you to a place where all of the deer are.”

 

“Where are the deer?” Questioned Zaina.

 

“Right here.” Bambi said.

 

Zaina looked at all of the deer. Most of them were does with fawns. There were bucks fighting with their antlers. There was one doe without a fawn. She was standing there alone and crying .Zaina went up to her.

 

“Where is your mother young fawn?” The doe said.

 

“I do not have a mother.” Zaina said.

 

“I will take care of you now.” Said the doe.

 

“My name is Zaina.” Bleated Zaina.

 

“I am Jove. Jove means young.” Jove said happily.

 

This was the start of a great friendship for Jove and Zaina. One day Zaina saw Bumper and her sisters again.Then Bumper said

" Want to play a game Zaina?"

" Sure." Zaina said

What do you want to play?" asked Bumper.

" I don't know any games." Zaina sighed.

" Why don't we play chase." Hopper insisted.

" What is chase?" said Zaina

" Chase is where one animal is it and the other animals run away from that person and if that animal touches you, you are it." Mumper explained.

" Let's play." Zaina bleated.

" I will be it." Said Zaina

" Everyone run away from Zaina.

The rest of the chase game will take place next chapter when Zaina bumps into a doe fawn.

Chapter 2 will be titled Who Killed Zaina New Friends.
