So here's the story behind this.
I had decided to look up a fallow deer so I could draw one, and then happened to look over at my book, Fire Bringer, which as - you guessed it - a deer on it. A Red Stag, actually, and I noted that his antlers looked very different from the fallow deer's, and the fallow and the white-tail. So I realized, "Hey! I need to practice all this crap!" and wanted to see all the different formations of antlers I could on one page.
So here yah go.
Just a bunch of antlers.
A ton of antlers.
I also decided that I'd post this so that if, say, Hige is Epic wanted to design... let's say a Roe Deer, s/he could just hop over to my fan art page and see what those antlers would look like so you don't accidentally call a white-tailed or black-tailed deer(The white-tailed bucks in Bambi with four points look rather like a mule deer in the antlers!) a roe deer.
....Also so I can find an excuse to work on disembodied antlers.
Anyway, I decidedly think that there white-tailed antler looks mighty, mighty fine.
....The caribou antler's kinda pitiful though.
Speaking of caribou, did you know bull caribou do not have antlers over christmas, but cows do, so all of Santa's reindeer must be cows?
Anyway, if one wants to draw a fallow deer, I feel the need to make special note:
The "Spellers" - or the thick, moose-y part of the antler - should always point down, not up like they do on moose. I did that then had to erase it once I saw my mistake.
One more thing - if you want to make a certain deer and it's antlers are here, and there's a note on the antler that you cannot read, PLEASE TELL ME! Most of those will be about howmany points an antler can/cannot have, and that's important. Pudus? Two points. Total. Like, spikes. One point per antler and no more.
Anyway, enjoy!
