If I give Bambi's mother a name in my fanfic as the Prince is talking to her spirit, will the readers know what I mean when I say B.M.'s name?

Well, you can always put a small disclaimer at the beginning or at the end of the fanfic, saying that Bambi's mother, for this story (so, your version of her), has been named "..." (and write the name, of course).
That should help to not get readers confused (=
