Wylee

OPEN
Personality:
Large and in charge. Very domineering doe, has problems with authority, especially her father. Tries to emulate her sister, Gurri.
Likes:
Rivers, streams or any other moving body of water, her family, her adopted sister, Rags, bossing bucks around, hanging out with her big sister Gurri and flirting with the older stags (only because Gurri does it).
Dislikes:
When Man is in the forest, when her twin brother Raven gets too close to Man, when her father yells at her, being ignored by the boys, and she especially doesn't like other does, aside from her family.
Especially hates Gurri's friend, Syndica. Both Syndi and River are large, intimidating does with attitude problems. When they are with each other, a boxing match always breaks out.
Not particularly fond of Brook, either. Doesn't hate her, but simply dislikes her because she's a doe.
Voice:

Zooey Dechanel
(Voice of Lani--Surf's Up, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)
Bio:
River was born by the side of a river. The labor pains came as a surprise to Faline, who had to drop to her knees by the bank of the river, for the new fawn was on her way and she didn't even give fair warning! But Faline was too close to the edge of the river, and the newborn fawn tumbled right in. Faline jumped in after her. After a vigorous swim, she managed to save the fawn and bring her back to the shore. She named the doe-fawn River, after the swift body of water that almost extinguished her new life.
Faline did not know she was pregnant with twins, so the next evening when Faline came home from grazing in the meadow, River was shocked to see her mother with a second fawn---her new brother Raven.
River was a very large fawn, so she grew up to be a bit of a bully to the other fawns, but never anything malicious. It was no surprise to see she had grown into a very large doe. She's very protective of her brother, Raven, who is smaller then her. She adores her adopted sister, Rags, whom she met just a month after she was born. They grew up together, and consider each other family, despite the fact that they are different species.
River herself is often mistaken for an elk by other creatures in the forest because of her large size, scruffy fur and dark coloration.
Refuses to be bullied by Syndica. Both does are huge and dominant and often get into fights with each other.
River gets along beautifully with Gloria, however. Often converses with Geno's friends, Bumper and Stinkweed.
Relation to Bambi:
Bambi and Faline's second-born daughter.

It's amazing that you live on a wild life refuge. I'd lie if I said I
wasn't jealous. :3 But after looking at River fr awhile, I'm convinced that I'm probably wrong. As I said, unfortunately I'm not too close to deer. And as for Rags, well... My dogs are Pomeranians... enough said. XD They practically ARE cats. Loud, yappy, fluffy cats that bark. |

Feathervenom: Thank you very much for your kind words on my art. I
would like to improve my deer drawings, but as hard as I try to find
it, I can't seem to locate this 'dog-like' quality that you speak of.
Dogs have a relatively long femur bone and their hocks are not far
from their paws. Deer, on the other hand, have relatively short femur
bones and their hocks are right beneath their flanks, which is pretty
far away from their hooves. It looks as though I have succeeded in
duplicating that in this drawing, but what do you see? I have pet real
deer before and because I live on a wildlife refuge, I see deer and
antelope on my property all the time. As for Rags' anatomy, one must
remember that a cat's anatomy--especially ones like bobcats or
lynxes-- is somewhat similar to that of certain dog breeds. But as I
said, I am always looking to improve my art, so if you could point out
more specific areas I need work on, I would be quite appreciative

MW, your art is mind-blowing. Let me tell you that right out, and at
school, I'm the art god. XD However, I would like to tell you I noticed this: The body - well, the legs, actually - seem distinctly doggish. Now, I'm no hunter, so I might be wrong, but having gone to Cade's Cove, Tennessee before(There was a doe and fawn grazing so close to the car, I could've rolled down the window and pet them), and living in the country, I've seen a fair number of deer. I've never been interessted in drawing them until recently so I never payed attention to their physique. But this looks just a bit too hard-muscled. The canine-ish thing goes for Ragamuffin, too. They're both gorgeous characters, though, and beautifully
drawn. |
