The War, Part Three, Arriving At Raknu’s Valley
“Are we there yet?” Rusky asked, panting
“Almost.” Togo said, getting tired of him asking that “I told you it would take awhile to get there.”
“I know, I’m just so excited to meet my father, and find out what my dream meant.” Rusky said, bouncing up and down in excitement.
“Your so tired because your bouncing.” Togo said
“I can’t help it,” Rusky said, taking a final bounce, then stoping and panted for a solid minute.
“Come on Rusky,” Togo said “if we don’t get going, we won’t get there.”
That woke him up. He sprang into the air, and zoomed northward.
“Wait! Stop!” Togo shouted “the valley is east!”
A blur of bluish-gray wolfdog fur, wizzed past Togo, and he ran after it.
Soon, they arrived at the valley where Raknu and his pack lived, and what they saw, frightened them.
Raknu and his entire pack, even the pups, were fighting another pack. Togo looked closer at the middle of the fray, and saw Raknu fighting two brown wolves.
Togo gasped. He realized that Raknu was fighting Aleu and Sumak! Raknu’s pack and Aleu’s pack, were fighting again!
(A long time ago, Raknu and his pack had an ongoing war with Nava’s pack. But after the caribou shortage, and Aleu led the pack over the ice, the war kind of ended, and, because of the circumstances at the moment, Raknu’s pack kind of won. The packs went there separate ways, Aleu’s, across the ice, and Raknu’s, up to Mount Sirius, the mountain next to nome, where there were still caribou. But now, Aleu’s pack had found a way back over the ice, and had come to exact their revenge)
Then, Aleu and Sumak jumped and pinned Raknu down!
Togo gasped. Rusky screamed.
Then a big, charcoal black wolf from Aleu’s pack walked up in front of Togo and Rusky, and growled.
Togo gasped. Rusky screamed.
They started to back away from the wolf. “Wh-wh-what do we do?” Rusky said with a quiver in his voice.
“We run.” Togo said bluntly
That’s what they tried to do, but before they could do it, the wolf pinned them down.
Togo gasped. Rusky screamed.
Then another black wolf jumped into the fray. It was Raknu!
Togo gasped. Rusky screamed. (This time in joy)
Soon, the black wolf went tearing off, with his tail between his legs.
And so did the rest of Aleu’s pack.
