Sister-to-Sister Talk
"I know it's hard," Atka said soothingly, "but not all of us 'fit in.' I certainly don't."
"But I don't WANT to be different," Tahkenna whimpered.
"Kenna..." Atka sighed. "When I was your age, I wasn't this lucky. I lived with nice house dogs who took good care of me, but my mother didn't even want me. She left me before I'd even opened my eyes."
Tahkenna turned her ice-blue eyes on her adoptive sister. "I just feel so...distant from everybody else. I just want some friends."
"Oh, Sis," Atka murmured. She rested her head on Tahkenna's. "I know it hurts. But you'll find a real friend. I promise."

Atka feels very sorry for her adopted sister, Tahkenna, because she's ridiculed by the other puppies. Tahkenna's temper often gets in her way, and she fights very well, leaving the others scarred and mothers hating her. Atka only wants her sister to be happy.
I actually used this for a contest entry, when I adopted Tahkenna. And she needs a gallery debut. She might even end up my poster child for a little while. Who knows.
