KitKit turned and watched as Montrose was unleashed. He trotted towards a dilapidated shed with a reddish light emitting from the door. Worried, KitKit arrived at his side.
- Montrose? What are you doing? -
- My officer wanted me to investigate the shed; so that's what I'm doing. -
KitKit narrowed her eyes at his answer. - You know what I meant. You always do. -
Montrose smiled. - You wanted the other answer? The 'I'm throwing myself into the face of danger for the good of the people' answer? -
KitKit sighed. - I guess so.. But why? Besides for 'the good of the people'. -
Montrose looked down at her. She'd only been in the force for about a month. Apparently the danger thing was still getting to her. - It's my job. And as a member of the Unit I must be brave. -
She looked up, eyes sparkling past the falling rain. - You can't always be brave. One day something's bound to happen. -
He reassured her with a Montrose smile. - Maybe. But that day is not today. -
They had arrived at the shed, and the two were standing there, silently, staring at each other in the rain. KitKit smiled meekly. - Be careful in there, boss. -
Montrose narrowed his eyes, still smiling. - I will. I promise. -
As he walked inside, realization struck Kit. That was the first time he had ever said 'I promise'.
Derp. The moment before his being-shot. A little KitRose moment thar, hurpasnurf. *retard dance* I loved this one. :D
