Well this is what I can think of :
1) Aniu of course, would be huge wolf, but is still female. That would make smaller than Nava(for example) or at least the same size as him, who is the same size of Balto. My theory is that, the huge white wolf of Balto 1 is not the same as Aniu, which appears at the end of Balto 2. Instead her mate may have been a huge dog (enough to impress a wolf like her) he could have been a huge husky, or better yet, an Alaskan malamute.
2) Of course Aniu would never be in the village of humans, not unless she had to. I think Balto was raised in the village of humans and never left that place, another reason why it had been raised by a goose? if he had stayed to live with Aniu, when she died, the pack would have accepted the pup and raised. In any case, if Balto and his brother lived in the city with her father, it is not logical to think that his mother wanted to go see them? at least once?

To be honest, I really do have to question the idea of Aniu 1.) being the same size as Jenna (she should be much bigger) and 2.) standing around so casually in a human town. I don't think the humans would take too kindly to a wolf roaming their streets.

I know this isn't remotely Alaskan, but the name "Dante" comes to mind.
