This banner looks very lovely. I do think it is a little dark, but I don't think it'll matter. As Cat said, it has a shadow to make it pop x3
And actually, I think Aleu looks cute here! c: I'm actually more for switching Balto out with a different pose though xD

cat --> You make a reasonable point. Large group shots have their place, but you're right; the banner just isn't it.

This is so much better!! I actually like the fact that it's a lot darker, and not really sensory overload. In my opinion, it looks awesome as it is! c:

One problem with fansite banners is CHARACTER OVERLOAD. I'm glad you stuck to the main ones, no comic relief sidekicks and just the important ones xD

And as derpy as Aleu is, I'd suggest a more flattering face xD

I personally don't mind the dark, mainly cuz it gets lighter on the bottom and has a back drop shadow underneath it, it helps make it pop.

I'd be of a mind to suggest putting the sled team in there next to Steele if there was room - which, unfortunately, there isn't.

Honestly, I think this is better than the current banner we have here.
My only issues with this is that I think the background is a bit too dark and that the choices for Balto's and Aleu's expressions seem a bit derpy. Also, I think the banner could be a bit brighter. Everything else is nice though and I can't wait to see the finished version.
