Serene burst into the house, yipping and jumping playfully. Kodi whipped around and saw his mate bouncing like a rabbit, and he tried calming her down.
'Serry! Serry -- What's up?' he asked, seeming to laugh. Serene ran up to him and nuzzled his face, Kodi looking a little caught off guard.
'I'm /pregnant/!' she whispered, happily digging her face into Kodi's fur. He blinked, too lost for words. His mouth turned into a wide smile, and he pushed his face back into hers.
Little did they know, Dusty was watching the scene from the window; she had happened to come across Kodi and Serene while walking home from a day of sledding.
A tear slid down her face, and her teal eyes sparkled with sadness.
'Congrats .. ' she whispered, closing her eyes and sprinting away.
