The Lost Daughter, Pt 14: A Defeat Over Evil
(The dialogue's not too long this time because I've been sick lately and just didn't have it in me to make it longer then this.)
Isabelle found herself caught in a crossfire: on the other side was her sister, her family and her own flesh and blood, and on the other side was the wolf who raised her, and yet who had lied to her her entire life.
- What's it going to be, Belle? I'm giving you one last chance to come to your senses, and to come home with me, Varcolac brought her back from her thoughts, licking his lips, and she looked at him with raised brows.
- We can put all this unfortunate business behind us, and I might just forgive you for defying me. What do you say, my dear, come home with uncle Var, he spoke with a sly grin. Isabelle looked at him, then glanced over her shoulder to look at her badly wounded sister, and turned to face him again.
- No. I'm done with your lies and manipulating, Belle said, and walked closer to Eva.
- I belong with her - she's my real and only family.
Var lowered his ears and head, with a threatening growl.
- In that case... you leave me no choice. Die, traitor! he roared, and lunged at Isabelle.
- Belle, look out! shouted Eva, Isabelle gasped, but then, let out an angry growl and lunged towards Var. Just as he was about to sink his teeth into her, she jumped head first against him hitting him in the stomach, pushing him back. Var raised his brows, he was now on his hind legs and then, lost his balance. One more time, Var tried to grab Isabelle with his paw, she stepped back, and now, he fell over the edge. Isabelle gasped, and rushed to the ledge only to see Varcolac disappear into the darkness of the gorge, with a furious yell, which faded and faded, and finally, there was only silence. Now, it was finally over.
- Uncle Var... she whispered, panting quietly, and now, her eyes began to water, she swallowed a tear and sighed.
- You'll never hurt anyone again.
