The Lost Daughter, Pt 13: A Betrayal
The sisters had a good head start, but still, Varcolac was gaining on them fast. Now Eva, who was badly hurt, had to stop to catch her breath, she panted heavily, and Isabelle rushed up to her.
- Are you alright, sis? Belle asked, nudging her big sister.
- Yeah... just, let me catch my breath for just a second, Eva responded quietly, her head hanging low, and coughed a few times, and Isabelle looked at her with worried eyes, cautiously looking around her.
- I think we managed to loose him, she said with a raised brow, but just then, a furious roar flew through the starting blizzard and Var jumped out of nowhere, smacking Eva right across the face with his massive paw, knocking her to the ground.
- Eva! Belle shouted with raised brows, as Var was approaching her sister.
- You! You've ruined everything! Var shouted furiously, as Eva was grunting and trying to get herself up - but alas, her strength was gone.
- I'll tear you apart! Var roared, but just as he was about to attack Eva, Isabelle jumped between them, bearing her teeth at him - which she'd never done before.
- You will not lay a paw on her, not while I'm here, she said with a quiet and bold tone, and Var let out a small growl.
- How could you, Isabelle? After everything I've done for you, how could you betray me like this? he shook his head with a disappointed tone, and Isabelle scoffed.
- All you ever did was fill my head with lies. You made me turn against my own sister! she shouted angrily, and Var growled.
- I only did it... because I love you. You're the only one I have ever truly loved in my life, so naturally, I have done whatever I could to keep you with me, he spoke quietly, with a tone that for just a brief second ALMOST got to Belle, but she shook it off pretty fast and scoffed.
- You don't know what it means to truly love someone, she spoke boldly, and now, Varcolac let our an angry growl, lowering his head in a threatening pose.
- Very well then... I see you have chosen your side. I wish it didn't have to come to this, but you know what happens to those who betray Varcolac...

Sie - Yes, it's been my favorite part in the story to see the sister's
bond starting to build up again after so many years of being apart,
and the saying "blood is thicker than water", really can be used here.
And of course, you're my best friend and it's an absolute pleasure
having you in it.  |
