Finally finished this! The first part / prologue of a story me and Sierra have been discussing. (Credits to Sierra for coming up with the title lol)
It was the early dawn of a chilly morning, as Nava sat on a cliff near the ocean, gazing upon the sky with thoughtful eyes. Now, his daughter, Eva, came out from the den, and walked up to him.
- Father? she called, and Nava came back from his thoughts, turning to face her.
- Eva? What are you doing up so early? he asked, as she sat next to him.
- I could ask you the same thing. You've been up all night, haven't you? Are you having those dreams again? Eva asked her father, who now turned his head forward again.
- They aren't just dreams, Eva. The spirits are trying to tell me something. Last night, I was approached by the white wolf herself, and she told me she has seen... Nava paused for a moment, closed his eyes and then opened them again and continued:
- Your sister.
Eva raised her eyebrows, and pulled her head back a bit.
- Isabelle? But... but, that's impossible, she's dead, she died when we were just little pups, she gasped quietly. Nava sighed, and looked at the sky for a moment.
- Eva... I haven't told you everything about that tragic day, because I wanted to protect you, he began, and Eva raised her eyebrows.
- What do you mean? Protect me from what? she asked.
- Before you and Isabelle were born, a stranger arrived to our lands. His name was Varcolac, he challenged me and tried to take over the pack. I defeated him, but he swore revenge, and started to gather followers. And then, on that faithful day, we could not find anything but two dead guards, and no signs of your sister. No body of a wolf pup was never found, Nava spoke quietly, looking at the ground, and Eva looked at her father.
- So... does that mean that... Isabelle could still be alive? And does this Varcolac have something to do with her disappearance?
- I do not know yet. But until we are absolutely sure, you are to stay away from Varcolac, he is extremely dangerous and unpredictable. Is that clear?
- But, I...
- Is that clear, Eva? Nava now took a more strict tone, and looked at his daughter, who sighed.
- Yes, father, she said quietly, Nava nodded, and now walked away back towards the den, while Eva looked at the skies, with the cool breeze blowing to her fur, and her mind filled with thoughts and questions...
