Personality: Janine is quiet and considerate. She is very caring and gentle to others, and is very easy to get along with. Janine rarely gets into fights, she is very peaceful and keeps out of the way of danger. Janine can be very protective of her family and her friends.
History: Janine was born with one older sister known as Waratah. Janine was very close with Waratah. One day, their mother spotted hunters coming dangerously close to the den. She herded her pups behind the den, where there was a hole in the ground they could hide in. But Waratah ran away, straight into the hunters, before her mother could snatch her back. One of the hunters bent down and picked Waratah up. It said something to the other hunters, and they disappeared. Janine was scared that she wouldn't ever see her sister again, but she couldn't run after them. She was just a pup, after all.
When Janine was 2 years old, she ran away from her home and wandered into Nome. One night, she looked through one of the windows in a house and gasped when she saw her sister, Waratah, inside. Waratah was lying on the floor, looking depressingly into space. It was obvious Waratah wasn't happy for some reason. Janine pawed at the glass, trying to get Waratah's attention. Warateh looked up, her thoughts disturbed by a clawing noise, and her eyes widened when she saw Janine at the window. She got up and went into another room. Janine felt confused for a moment, then she heard a door open from the side of the house. She crouched down, but then saw Waratah appear from the side.
Janine jumped up. "Waratah! Is it you?" She cried, coming close to her sister. "Its me." Waratah grinned, then nuzzled Janine. "I never thought I'd see you again, Janine! How did you know I was here?" She said. Janine shrugged. "I didn't know you were here. I was looking around and I saw you through the window." She replied, smiling. Waratah started to walk away. "Come on! I'm sick of staying in that house. Lets go to the forest." Waratah barked, and dashed away. Janine's face broke into a relieved smile and she followed her sister.
Likes: Waratah, the forest, the ocean, Nome, exploring, hunting, snow, spring, making friends, and watching stars.
Dislikes: Bullies, summer, humans, fighting, and dogs.
Fears: Murder
Relation with Balto: She went to look for her sister in Nome.
