Suddenly Janny broke down into tears and turned her face away from her children. 'Mum, what's wrong?' Katey asked worriedly. When her sobbing ceased enough for her to speak, she gulped. 'My dears, I should have told you this a very, very long time ago.' she started, wiping her tears. 'Hey mum, don't worry, we can take it.' Julen assured her. 'You know that big mean dog they call Steele?' she asked slowly, quivering at the very mention of this monster's name. 'Yes, why?' Katey asked. 'He's... your father...' she cried. 'But mum, I thought that you hated Steele? Why did you want to have us with him?' Julen asked rushingly. Janny shook fearfully all over. 'I didn't... he... raped me...'
