Storm realizes he should have held his tongue against his sister, Marina.

Storm was lucky enough to finally get his sister alone after the ceremony, even if he had seen her before it took place. He was happy that she had been chosen to become the female Beta successor, now being named a Delta. It was an honor, especially for them since their parents were no longer with them. He knew they’d be very proud. He glanced sideways at sister, picking up her uneasiness as if her mind was full. He came to a stop giving her a questioning look.
“Why’d you stop?” Marina asked, cocking her head to the side.
“Because you look like I treaded on your tail all the way from the Valley to Moon Rocks,” he said. “What’s troubling you?”
Marina’s eyes wandered away from him causing him to turn her head with his tail. “You know you can trust me, I’m your brother.” She let out a sigh, quickly pulling away.
“Dakota,” she confessed looking at her paws.
Storm rolled his eyes annoying. “You’re a Delta now Marina which means, you’re forbidden to take a mate until you’ve finished your training.” He saw the crestfallen look of the she-wolf. His voice soften as he continued, “Besides, you know pack tradition. Duke is to become your mate now once you two have both reached Beta status.”
A growl escaped Marina’s throat, her fur bristling. “Pack law!” she snarled, pacing towards her brother and causing him to lower his self to the ground. “Pack law! Pack law shouldn’t choose who I have to love. Pack law shouldn’t make any wolf’s decision!”
Storm lowered his gaze. “You know I feel the same about-”
“I’d never mate with that arrogant mutt. What are you thinking Storm?!”
“Duke is full bred like us all,” Storm stammered. “But Dakota-” Unable to fight back at his sister’s rage, he watched as she deliberately turned her back. He sighed. What had he been thinking bringing this up to his stubborn sister?
