"Oh, yes, I can tell you quite the story."

As Vincent padded down the alley behind his house he couldn't help but recognize the sound of two puppies behind him. Two rambunctious brothers, at that. The two had been placed in his care as their mother had grow sick of them getting into too much trouble for her to handle. With a sigh, Vincent stopped walking and turned around to face his grandsons. The larger of the pair, Iron, stopped abruptly and widened his eyes in surprise. The smaller, Benny, stopped and narrowed his.

''We got bored in that stuffy house of yours.'' Benny sniffed, flicking his ear. Iron cast a dark look at his brother but said nothing in defense of the house. Vincent rolled his eyes.

''You two got yourselves sent here as a punishment. You can't expect it to be fun.'' Vincent lamented. Benny let out a gusty little sigh and sat down.

''Well, I'm not going back in there," the tiny red pup squeaked indignantly. With a grin, his brother sad down next to him.

''Neither am I," Iron offered, wagging his tail. Vincent let out a low growl and furrowed his brow.

''Fine, freeze then. I don't care.'' He retorted. Concern washed over both of the pups faces. Vincent smirked a bit, then thought better. The two pups looked at him for a few seconds longer, then looked to each other and began whispering to each other.

''Grandpa Vincent, wait,'' Iron pleaded, his voice rising in pitch. ''We'll be good if you tell us a story.''

''Yeah, you're really old. You probably have loads of stories.'' Benny offered, rather wryly. Vincent rolled his eyes and sat down.

''What would you like to hear about,'' he asked in response. Iron's head perked straight up, and Benny narrowed his eyes.

''Well, dad likes to tell us about famous sleddogs,'' Iron explained quickly, his grin spreading wider across his face. The sour expression on Benny only grew as well.

''And?'' Vincent growled. Iron looked up at him with a very ecstatic expression.

''My favorite story is about this old sleddog named Chase! He had the golden collar before Dad won it! Dad says he even fought a bear!" Iron exclaimed in excitement. Vincent felt an odd mixture of pride and disappointment as Iron explained his favorite stories. He supposed it wouldn't have been hard for Steele to learn of the other black furred racer, as Steele too had not only earned the golden collar, but he'd obviously been to Fairbanks. Vincent frowned a bit, but said nothing.

''My favorite story is when Iron shuts up about famous sleddogs.'' Benny hissed, nudging his larger brother who in turn nudged him back, nearly knocking the small red puppy into the snow.

''What do you want to know about Chase?'' Vincent asked, narrowing his eyes. Iron bouncing onto his feet and then sat back down.

''As much as you know, Grandpa Vincent! I'm sure you know lots, because you're so old.'' Iron yipped, Vincent opened his mouth to protest this, but Iron's voice was back. ''Was he really as great as Dad says he was?''

''Iron, I can tell you a thing or two about the illustrious career of Chase. Believe me.'' Vincent hissed. Iron stared on in amazement, while Benny sat looking as bored as ever.

Yeah, Iron, you're about to learn things.

Iron doesn't realize the can of worms he just opened.
He's too young to know the error of his ways.
Benny is clearly the best looking of all the Jenna / Steele puppies I mean, just look.
Perfection is real and his name is Benny.
(I like to think that Benny was just as enjoyable as Vincent was as a pup. "Benny did you make that mess?" "mom i dID NOT DO THAT I SWEAR IT WAS DAD BECAUSE I HATE HIM AND HE'S STUPID.")

I can 100% guarantee that Vincent's story did not live up to Iron's expectations.
I'm sure Chase is very proud of his son and his stories about "that one time that huge worthless, insignificant, redundant menace forgot about his family for a ridiculous, cheap looking, good-for-nothing collar."
Aw jeez, thanks baeb! ;w; Yeah, I love the size difference between Benny and Iron! It's kind of hilarious actually. AND YES. IRON GETS HUGE. This is actually the last time Iron is smaller than Vincent, he grows like three feet overnight. Oops.
And you're so welcome baeb! Glad you like it!
