| WQ > Balto > WoC |
I agree about the dream colors - it's supposed to stand out, and
thanks to the scenery and the lighting, it reflects on Balto, almost
like a shadow or dramatic lighting. That's an important technique and
it's used well. As for the normal colors, at least the animators along the line "tried" to keep them similar. WQ only messed up by forgetting Balto had yellowish wolf eyes [but then again, maybe it was significant to the eventual turning point/climax...] Still, nice comparison! - Juuchan17 |

Proof that the animators for Balto 3 actually thought about the
colours used in the first film. |

A dream sequence is always shown in unusual colors...that's what helps
establish it AS a dream. No need to take that into account. As to the other color problems, that's been explained ad nauseum all over this site and its forum. It comes down, basically, to different production teams, on two continents, and two different production companies. All spanning a nine-year period of time, with substantial gaps in between each movie. And budget issues as well. |

Well, in defense of Balto in his dreams, the lighting is different.
Colors look different under different lighting. |
