The Outbreak

The year of 1925 has been kind to no one. Diphtheria is everywhere now, no children are safe from the rapid spreading illness. Too many cases for the local doctors office, local nurses do their best to visit all of the affected children in Nome. Dolly rests by her boys bed listening to his breathing as he struggles. The heat radiating from his fever was nearly enough to heat a whole room. She stays with him day and night hoping that the cure is coming.
