Just Fine...

There's really a lot of tension in the way Steele delivers this quote. There's a lot going on behind it. He doesn't want to accept that he has failed at his task. He doesn't want to think that Balto, the half breed he so looks down on, might be the one to rescue them. He can't stand the idea that his reputation may have just fallen.
