Rock, Eagle and Shadow escorted River back to the clearing. What kind of punishment awaits me? Were River's thoughts. Once home, River walked over to where Sun was laying and plopped down next to her.

She looked at him with a smug and said, "So, did you have fun on your walk?"

River just grunted and lay his head on his paws. Sun was just sucking up all his pain and misery. She enjoyed it when her brother got in trouble. Only because she was a "goodie-good wolf".

Shadow padded over to Sun and River, and nearly made River jump when he opened his eyes and saw his father's huge black paws by his face. "Now," their father started. "about your punishment. River, you are not to leave the clearing for any reason until I say you can."

"What? Aww come on, dad! I'm not a pup."

"I'm afraid today you acted like one." Shadow responded. "Just do as I say. If I see you are obeying me and staying around here, I might lift off the punishment a little sooner. Now, come and eat somthing. You must be hungry." Shadow licked River on the head and walked back to go talk with their mother.
