River walked contently through the woods, sniffing just about every branch and leaf scattered on the ground. I don't care if I disobey father. I'm old enough now to explore the woodland myself, he thought.

Moving along, he spotted a river up ahead. Now that summer is here, the heat is starting to become intense. So why not go for a swim? River padded on over to the flowing water, feeling some ice-cold water droplets splash on his face.

River splashed into the water, throwing droplets everywhere. The water felt so good on his fur, cooling his whole body at once. But his splashing and loud doggie-paddle attracted another animal. A bear. But bears don't eat wolves. But they certainly could kill one. River stopped dead and stared at the approachin grizzly. I have to leave now, or I'm as dead as the dried leaves on the ground, was his last thought before the bear catapulted itself into the water, challenging River.
