Clover awoke to be on the streets once more and she jumped when she stared into the luminous grreen eyes of another tom cat. She scrambled to her feet and stared at the tom. He was a Turkish Angora, like herself, and he looked very well fed to be a street cat. She eyed him suspiciously, and flicked her tail to wrap around her paws as she sat.

"Who are you?"

She demanded, staring at him with icy blue eyes.

"I am Ques (pronounced "Keys"). Who are you?"

His sleek, calm voice rang in her ears and she lowered her ears, thinking for a moment, 'Should I tell him my name? He seems trustworthy enough.' she thought to herself. She shook her head and pricked her ears, determined not to show weakness or fear.

"I am Clover. My owners left me and I was just searching for them,"

Then her stomach rumbled softly and she blushed slightly.

"and food. I hope you don't mind me asking for more information about yourself."

She said, pricking her ears. She was relieved when he nodded, and she waited for his reply. Where did he come from? How long has he been on the streets? Why had he come to her that night?

"I escaped my home for my owners were abusive and I met a clan of forest cats. They accepted me and right now I am an experienced warrior."

'Oh, great. Just what I need. An experienced tom-cat warrior. What next?' she thought to herself, rolling her eyes mentally.

"I was sent to recruit more members, and you look like you could fit the part. I will give you time to think about it. Meet me here tommorrow at dawn. And find somewhere safe to slepp. I can be dangerous out here alone at night."

He warned before padding off into the woods, dissapearing into the shadows. Clover sighed in relief and padded into a shadowy alley and slept in a cardboard box that night, pondering on his proposel. She then decided on her answer, and fell asleep.
