Alue held her breath as two large dark coloured wolves emerged from the shadows. Alue gulped and stared up at them trying to keep her head held high.

"Get out of our territory!" They growled down at her, "OUT!"

"No! My clan needs this land!" Alue growled back. Alue couldn't tell anymore if there was a whole pack in that cave or just two, she stayed cautious, but not giving up, "Why do you need it?"

She knew that was a stupid question.

"I don't have time for your games little wolf, leave now or else!" They barked their final warning, but Alue had to keep them talking.

"Is there any more of you? There must be a bigger clan...?" Alue pondered trying to start conversation.

"No!" The second wolf snapped, "There is three! One is gone though... your clan chased him away, should we see him again? Who knows. We were kicked out of our own clan and are in the hiding from them. Living is hard on our own and this land is all we have, so leave now! We are losing patience with you!"

Alue felt sorry for them.. and though she should leave them, there were only three and she had the whole pack. But she also wanted to keep them talking. What should she do?
