Alue awoke that morning after a blissful rest in the snowy plain. The stars had watched over them that night and Alue had got a well deserved sleep. She yawned and looked around her. The clan were also just awakening, and the sun was rising above the tall, pine trees. A stretch and Alue was ready to start the new day.

"Come on everyone, up," She called, a lot more confident now, "We should head into the forest and find somewhere to settle down in.."

The clan all obeyed her orders and in no time they were searching through the forest. It seemed like a nice place in the light, not as sinister as the night before.

The day grew on and the clan (still fully rested, though on aching paws) were in need of food. Alue pondered for a while.

Didn't Nava say the caribou were here? They had moved on and thats why the clan had too? Yes, he did. She had completely forgot.

So, soon Alue found a herd and they hunt one down. This was the first time for her, but the clan showed her what to do. They ate happily, then continued their search. Just before darkness fell, they found a cave. It wasn't what Alue was looking for, but she decided to stay there one night and keep searching the next day for their perfect home.

That night, there was a howl from outside. Alue looked around in horror and found shadows moving around.

"Another pack!" One wolf snarled, "Alue, what should we do?"

Alue thought hard... what should she do?
