The wolves sunk into the darkness again as they thought about their past.. and their un-willing future. Alue felt sympothy, and took a deep breath to ask the question at the back of her mind... the effect? She didn't know. But it was her last hope.

"Wait!" She called, and one turned his head around, "What if you join with me?"

"I'm sorry, but no..." He sighed,"We are loners, we do not want YOU on our team, thanks,"

"No! My clan!" She called, "You can join my clan, so we can live here! Hunting is easy for us... you can have food, make friends, start a new life! Please consider it!"

It looked as if the wolf had given up hope in himself and he walked away ignoring Alue. But one stopped and turned round to her.

"Wait my brother!" He called to the other wolf, "She is right, this could be a new opening for us, a new bigginning! We could live like we did before, remember? With the pack, with our friends and faimly.. we can have that again! Please... think about it, beacuse I will take the offer," The wolf said turning round to Alue, "I want that life again, I don't want to live in darkness and in hunger. Thank you,"

Alue blushed. There was a totally different side to the wolves that she hadn't seen. She could see hope and excitment. Alue could hear the other wolf coming nearer, back out of the gloomy dark of the cave end. He nodded and smiled at his brother, then to Alue. Alue sweetly smiled back, still blushing, yet feeling happy with herself and her decision.

"I suppose you are the clan leader?" The wolf asked and Alue nodded. The other wolf turned to her, who seemed to take a liking to Alue ever since she asked the question.

He grinned back and said, "I'm sure you will make a great leader,"
