Alue walked into the darkness of the cave. The ground was cold under her feet and Alue was becoming more nervous. Suddenly a wolf leapt on top of her and she slammed onto the hard floor. Alue couldn't tell what was going on. She could hear the shadow on top of her growling.

"Ah!" Alue yelped in pain, "Get off! Get off of me you brute!"

"Why have you come here! We told you to leave!" The wolf snapped.

"My clan want this land too! How many are there in here?"

"That is none of your buisness! Get out! I will not warn you again!"

Alue thought quickly of ways to keep him talking. She needed to find out more about "us" so she could reason with them.

"Will you please get off! Can't we talk about this in any way?" Alue asked.

"NO. We cannot, as there is nothing to talk about. Leave!" The wolf barked and let off his grip on Alue. She turned around to face the wolf.

"How many are there here? Is it just you or are there others in here?" Alue asked.

The wolf gave up and answered her, "There are three, one is already lost to your clan.. don't know when will we see him again, if ever,"

"Don't be like that! If you care about your clan members you should run after him! Who is the leader?"

"There are three of us, there is no leader! But I guess you could say that I was suitable for that position," He said smuggly, "We are outcasts of the bigger pack here. The main pack. They are not simple folk at all, we never fit in, omegas... bad hunters. No use. So we were left on our own. Hunting is hard for us and we struggle to stay alive in these conditions.. but why do you care?"

Alue had a thought... but was it wise? Should she ask him...
