Gravestones and Nightmares:

"Balto..." a dark voice whispered through the mist. Balto turned around, knowbody was there. Slowly, Balto walked towards the sound of the voice.
"Say cheese!" it laughed evily. Balto swung his head around and his heart skipped a beat. He screamed in fright, his whole body froze in fear. In front of him was a huge grin of huge, sharp teeth and eyes that glowed as yellow as the moon. They were empty, no pupils and no feelings but hatred and evil. The teeth dug deep into his fur, he yelled with more fright. Suddenly, he banged his head.
"OUCH!" he shouted. A headache bagan to burn inside his head. Balto checked his surroundings, he was safe in his boat. It was only a nightmare! A terrible, frightening nightmare. Balto was sure the pain felt real. He rested his head on his paws. The picture of the glowing eyes shot into his mind. The memory made him shudder.

"BALTO!" Boris called as he ran to the boat. Balto yawned and stretched as he got up.
"Balto! Quick! Come see! Its..." Boris began
"What? What's the matter?!" Balto asked worriedly.
"Ok.." Boris continued as he caught his breath back. "Nome, its changed! It's so scary! Theres glowing faces and demons walking around!" Boris was obviously frightened. Balto looked at Boris plainly. Changed?

Boris led Balto to the main street of Nome. Then he stopped and walked behind Balto.
"See?! It's terrible!" Boris shivered.
"Boris..." Balto sighed as he starred at the glowing pumkins and costumes that people wore.
"Theres the demons! NO!" Boris skidded under Balto and covered his eyes.
"BORIS! They're not Demons! Thats just scarey costumes," Balto laughed.
"What? Oh... I knew that... But the glowing faces! AARRH!" Boris yelled.
"Thats just a pumkin lantern!" Balto walked backwards and Boris stood up.

One of the pumkins struck his heart deeply. It beated faster. The glowing eyes of the pumkin.... The memory made him shudder again.
"Balto, hey!" Jenna walked over to Balto, followed by Kodi, Dingo and Saba.
"Hey dad!" Kodi said, giving Balto a father-son hug.
"Hey Kodi, so, whats going on here?" Balto asked Jenna.
"The humans are celebrating, its nearing the scary time of the year!" Saba explained.
"Celebrating what?" Dingo asked.
"Celebrating Halloween of course!" Saba smiled.
"How do you know all of this then?" Kodi asked.
"My girl has been talking about it all month! She is 14, anyway!" Saba replied.
Balto glared at the pumkins glowing eyes. They sent a cold shiver down his spine.
"Come on, lets investigate the new decorations!" Kodi suggested enthusiasticly.
The six friends walked towards the closest house. At the top of the door was a hanging bat decoration. It was cut with paper, there were a few bats connected to eachother. The next house had no decorations. Balto stepped onto the porch. Suddenly, a cackle came from behind him, making him jump. He swirled around to see a witch decoration that cackled with its eyes lighting up. The glow shot him again. His dream really cut through his head. The witch was movment acctivated.
The next  house had a cardboard coffin in the porch. Dingo stiffed it and walked through a piece of string. BOO! A wooden(carved) skeleton popped out and frightened him. He was so supprised that he yelped and ran behind Jenna. They all laughed and Dingo blushed with embarresment.

After checking out all the house decorations, they all began sniffing at the people's costumes as they walked by. Some even stopped and patted them on the head. It was all so exciting! Even Steele was dressed up!
Steele walked through a broken fence and spotted Balto. Then, he faced the other way so Balto wouldn't reconise him. It did not work, Balto saw him and laughed.
"Steele? What are you wearing!" Balto rolled on the floor with laughter. Steeles cheeks burned with embarresment. Even Boris was laughing at Steeles rediculous costume.
"Stupid humans!" Steele growled. He was wearing some bunny ears and a pair of fairy wings. Steele looked like a girl!

After the sun set, and the moon rised, Balto returned to his boat. No matter how much he tried, he just couldn't go to sleep. All that passed through his mind was the evil glow of the eyes. He closed his eyes tight. Tighter... Tighter.... He closed them so tight, that tears filled his eyes. He was too restless. After a while of lying with his eye's open, Balto decided to go see Jenna and tell her about his dream. Yes, if he told Jenna, she would say somthing to comfort him and he'd be able to sleep better. It was set, tonight, he would go see Jenna!

When Balto walked into Nome, he was surprised to see so many children with costumes on. The cackling witch started to cackle when the children walked past. When a tall man answered the door, they all shouted "TRICK OR TREAT!"
Balto watched as the man gave the children some candy and closed the door. Balto walked up to the children and sniffed their candy bags.
"Want some candy boy?" a teen boy asked.
"Are you crazy? Don't give dogs candy!" the girl next to him scolded.
"Yeah, whats it gonna do?" the boy answered back as he put the candy on the floor for Balto to eat. First Balto, sniffed it. Then, he chewed on it. It was toffie, and when he got to the middle, chocolate covered his toungue. He enjoyed the sweet taste of candy.
"Whats it gonna do?! Your an idiot!" the girl spat.
"Come on, its not like its gonna give him nightmares!" the boy laughed as the two teenagers walked of. Nightmares? Suddenly, Balto wished he never ate the candy.

When he got to Jenna's house, he jumped on a dustbin and through rosie's bedroom window.
"Balto?" Jenna asked getting up from her basket.
"Hey Jenna," Balto said.
"What are you doing here? It's nearly midnight!" Jenna asked.
"I wanted to talk to you about something..." Balto began.
"What is it? Is something wrong?" Jenna asked worriedly.
"Kind of... You see, I had a terrible nightmare last night. A voice called my name. It was a dark voice, kind of like a ghostly groan of pain!" Balto paused.
"Oh, I see... Your having trouble sleeping now?" Jenna understood what he meant.
"Yes, and when I fineally saw what was calling me, its sharp teeth dug into me. It was like real pain, I hated it! And those eyes..." Balto closed his eyes and shook his head. He couldn't speak any more about the eyes. The memory was too painful.
"Oh Balto!" Jenna laughed. She walked over to him and nuzzled his fur.
"Balto! How did you get in here?!" a cheerful voice laughed. Balto and Jenna turned around to see Rosie, she was dressed as a witch.
"Rosie, don't go giving your candy to Jenna!" Rosie's mum called. Rosie laughed.
"OK!" Rosie replied back. "Sssshhhh!" Rosie whispered and emptied her candy bag onto the floor.
"Want some candy Balto?" Rosie asked, still whispering. She put a handful of unwrapped candy in front of Balto. Balto sniffed at the candy. Ok, maybe one more piece would'nt hurt! Balto happily chewed on a peice of candy. He loved the flavour! It was so sweet, maybe ONE more candy could'nt hurt. He crunched on another piece. YUM! Ok... Maybe just one more little piece... Maybe just another.... And another.... AND ANOTHER! YUMMY! Soon, Balto had eaten over half the bag of candy.
"WOW! You really like candy!" Rosie giggled. Her parents didn't know anything about this. Balto burped loudly. PEW! His breath smelt terrible! His stomouche ached a little.
"Balto..." Jenna looked concerned. Balto laughed and lay down.
"Want some toffe now?" Rosie asked. Balto smiled. He wanted to try a tiny peice of toffe, if he ate too much, he would be fat!
Rosie put unwrapped toffe in front of balto, the same spot where she put the candy. Balto ate one piece of toffe. OH YUM! It was so sweet and chewwy! Balto ate another piece... And another... AND ANOTHER! He ate the whole handful. Balto burped so loud, that Rosie's father heard it and came upstairs.
"OH NO! DAD'S COMING! HIDE BALTO!" Rosie whispered as silently as she could. Balto slightly heard what she said, and jumped out of the window. Rosie pushed her candy under her bed and got cosy. She pretended to be asleep, and so did Jenna. Jenna was worried, had Balto eaten TOO MUCH candy? What if he gets ill? WHAT IF IT POISONS HIM?! Jenna was terrifyed!

Balto remembered how warm Jenna was when she nuzzled him and calmly fell asleep....
Thats when the most terrible nightmare of his whole life began!

The moon shined brightly, Balto had no idea where he was.
"Oh Balto! Guess who!" the dark voice said. Balto gasped and swirled around. Nobody there... He swirled to see if they were in front of him again. No one there.
"Wanna play?!" it asked, laughing evily. Balto knew that the game they were gonna play wasn't gonna be fun...!
"How about a game of 'eaten alive'?" the voice laughed again. Balto didn't like the sound of that game.
"Who are you? Why are you doing this?!" Balto asked, trying to seem brave.
"Brave one, eh? Well, lets begin the game!" it's voice seemed to echo. There was no walls around, what did it echo of?
"Where am I?" Balto asked nervously. He was tierd of having such nightmares! There was no reply... All of a sudden, the mist cleared to reveal the terror of his location... A GRAVEYARD(this is where it gets spicy)! Balto starred at the gravestones. He took a few steps back. OOPS! He stepped on a grave. This was bad... Even worse than bad, this was TERRIBLE! What was gonna happen? 'Eaten
