Steele watched his parents and other dogs race over the snow and pasted by him, making his fur move. On the back of the sled was his master yelling at them. Then there were out of sight. I longed to be with them ,running side-by-side with his farther in the lead. Pulling his master across Nome, or maybe longer.

   Something knocked me on the head.I turned around around growling to see my sister,Beth.

  "Someones in a bad mood". Beth grumbled.

 "Leave me alone". I growled.

 "You can`t boss me around.Besides I can`t.Mom told me to stay with you before she and dad went".She rolled her eyes."She probley think I can`t  take care of myself".

 "I don`t care".

"Well mom said so, so you have to"! She said gladly.

"If you want to take of yourself then, take care of yourself"! I growled.

Her eyes wided."I can't ! Can`t you hear? I would leave if could.Mom would rip my tail off"!

   I finally curled up in bed. I was tried after a whole day with Beth.All she wanted to do is race and games. Can`t she see that I`m too old to play dumb games, and so is she.I rolled over.Why can`t I sleep? I crawled out of bed. Looking aroud to see if anyone was awake. Then I exited the barn.Under the moonlight eveything seemed peaceful and beautiful. I walked away from the barn.I turned the street and ran to the nieghborhood in the city.But halfway there I got tried.I crurled up again and decieted I`ll see her in the moring.

  I was walking the streets of a unfairmilar place.

"Where am I"? I yelled . It ecohed . Then I ran maybe I`ll find my way out......

     All the sudden I was in the forest that surarounds Nome. I stoped running. The trees were everywhere.I would rather perfer Nome.Dogding the trees I smelled something. I wolf! I followed the sent.Farther in the woods I went. Almost tripping over tree roots every second. How can wolves live with this? Then I spotted a small clearing. I beautiful white female wolf.Her fur almost blended in with the snow. With her was a small brown  wolf aroud my age.Wait! This wolf smelled differnt. Like a dog sorta.But it had a wolf smell.

   I stange voice ecohed the setting.

"The emeny , the one who would take your glory, your love, your greatness, your power".

"This wolf-dog no way"! I yelled. This wolf-dog was going to take Jenna from me? Impossialbe. I`m going crazy. That Wolf-dog won`t take anything from me.Not anything , nothing this wolf-dog ,will stay in the woods for as long as he lives.No one is taking my glory,love or anything.

    I woke up.Could that be true?My mind yelled.I stood up.No. It was just a deam. Besides that wolf-dog will stay with his mom in the forest. And I`m have to be going crazy. Him taking everything from me! Wait. The voice said glory what glory? I`m still to young to even pratice pulling. That means to dream is for the furture.And he said power, and greatness.I`ll be great! I`ll have power! But.........Then my thoughts forced the words in my mind. ...........He`ll take all that away from me.

    Then shook my head away from the horriable thoughts.Then I relized that I didn`t know were I was.I looked around. I sniffed the air. People, food, a sledge team, and a dog ,Jennna!I ran to her smell. There she was. The most beautiful dog in the world. Running to her I thought about the dream about the wolf-dog snacthing her away from me. I met up with her.

"Hi steele", Jenna said.

"Hi", I said in return.

Jenna shifted her wight on her other side."Steele". She said uncormfortly.

"Whats wroung Jenna"? I asked. I was worried. Did she meet the wolf-dog?

"I feel thats its wroug to be meeting you". She whispered, looking her paws.

"Why "?I asked horrifid.

"I don`t know , I just think I should stop. " Then she turned around and walked away her head close to her paws, her tail dragged across the floor.

   I closed my eyes. Was this really happening? I walked home.I was sad. Was she keeping something from me? Steetle curled up in his bed.

 "Steele!! Steele! Steele?! Steele!!!!!!!!!!! Wake up.!!!!You lazy furball!!!" Beth yelled jumping up and down ."Todays our 1st  pulling traning, Wake up! I can`t wait !!!! 

     Opening one eye I glared at her.Then Steetle got up.

"Its still night", I pionted out. "Go back  to sleep".

"No, its almost moring. Besides I`m not tried, so you can`t make me.

"Leave me ALONE". I snarled.

"Why? Are you sad? Are you mad? Tell me, please!"

"Leave me alone"! I repeated.

"Look its moring , Beth said pointing with paw outside, forgeting about asking questions." Taining lesson is today, right NOW! Lets go!Beth squealed.

     Beth was in the back right in front of the wheel dogs,I wonder why. While I`m right behind the lead dogs.But before we  run with them wwe have run just me and Beth .Oh great.

     My master told us to turn on the street to Jenna`s home.I growled.Then turned us the other side to the froest. While we ran I saw  the wolf- dog in my dream cross the street. Out of the forest into Nome.Every step he touk was bringing him closer to Jenna.I darted to him. M y master yelled but I didn`t listen . Beth pulled back or tryed becuase she ran with to the brown  mutt. Then that wierd voice that echos in that dream I yelled: Balto the great! Balto the great.Destined for greatness. Destined for greatness.

I slowed down.What did this mutt have that I don`t? I will never ever let that dummy  look better than me in greatness. 

  Never.
