A long time ago in 1931 Alue had pups Thunderbolt, Zeek, Donny, Lindsay, Niko, Mishty and Moon Light. Their father called Russo made them practice a game called "Catch The Caribou". Thunderbolt always ran as fast as he could to catch whoever was the caribou. One time when he was so close to catching the caribou Donny yanked him back by his tail and Donny got the caribou instead. When Thunderbolt told his dad what was wrong he just said "Son, you don't need to make up stories just to hide the fact that your jealous." Of course that wasn't true. Donny was like a Steele to Balto so you get the fact that he's annoying. 3 years later in 1934 the pups got some sad news. "Your grandfather has died." said Alue. "We have picked one special pup to follow in your gandfather's footsteps. "Thank you everyone, thanks alot!" said Donny has he walked up onto the rock Alue was standing on. " I'm sorry Donny, but you didn't win." said Alue. " WHAT?!" Donny yelled. " You didn't win, Donny. The real winner is Thunderbolt." Alue said. Thunderbolt walked up on the rock. " I don't know what to say, I'm honored" said Thunderbolt.. " You will begin your journey to Nome tomorrow." she said. The next day all the animals gathered around a cliff near Alue's cave. " Some of you may know that my father Balto has died. So we picked one lucky pup of ours to follow in his footsteps, come on out here Thunderbolt!" Alue said proudly. The crowd starated to howl. Thunderbolt walked up onto the edge of the cliff. " HHHHHOOOOOOWWWWW!" he howled out loud proud to be the one chosen. The crowd cleared a path for Thunderbolt. He then jumped off the cliff and ran to the ocean where the ice path was formed. " Good luck Thunderbolt!" Zeek yelled. Zeek was Thunderbolt's best friend.

Thunderbolt ran across the ice path. 30 minutes later Scampers the mail dog told Jenna that Thunderbolt was coming to meet her at the house. While Thunderbolt was running he stopped. " I'm not ment to do this!" Thunderbolt yelled. " Yes you are!" a voice yelled from above. " Huh?" said Thunderbolt. " Up here!" the voice said again. It was a little bird. " Who are you?" Thunderbolt said again. " I am Jose." said the bird. " How did you find me?" Thunderbolt said. " Oh I've been following you for say... about the last 30 minutes." Jose said. All of a sudden the ice started cracking and this huge wave about 60 feet tall was coming up behind them. Of course Jose flew higher but Thunderbolt was in deep trouble. He ran from ice berg to ice berg trying to escape the wave. All the ice was breaking though so it was hard to get across. Nome was about 7 miles from where they were. Thunderbolt was too slow though and the giant wave knocked him off his ice berg and into the water. He saw a rock and swam near that. Jose was waiting on the rock for Thunderbolt. The only good thing was that the wave pushed them closer to Nome. With no more ice bergs to walk on, Thunderbolt had to swim for 2 more miles. Finally, they reached Nome. " Now what?" said Jose. " Now we go to my Grandma Jenna's house." said Thunderbolt. They headed to Jenna's house. They hopped on the boxes to the window. " Hello Grandma Jenna, are you home?" Thunderbolt asked quietly. " I'm right here" said Jenna. " Hi I'm Thunderbolt and this is Jose." Thunderbolt said. " I have something to give you Thunderbolt." said Jenna. She gave him a shiny gold star with a red string. " This is the medal your grandfather won after bringing the medicine back." she said. Thunderbolt put it on. " Thanks" he said. Then he went away to begin his journey. " I'll be back at 11:00p.m!" Thunderbolt yelled. Jenna waved. All of a sudden a smell went through the air.

" That smells like... TURKEY!" Thunderbolt yelled. He ran into the bakery and hopped through the window and grabbed that turkey right off the stove! He quickly ran right out of the bakery before anyone saw him. He ate the turkey hiding in an alley hoping he wouldn't get caught. Then they walked for hours when he stopped and looked up and there he saw it. It was the side of nome with no houses, or bakeries, or sled races, or people just the open air and animals. They came across the log Balto got pushed off of by the fox. The log was now unstable. " I wonder how grandpa got across this." Thunderbolt said. There was no fox there though, but somehow trouble still happened. While Thunderbolt was crossing the shaky log he saw something. A white wolf. Not just any white wolf, Aniu the white wolf. " Woah" he said then he moved a little and SPLASH! He fell off the log into the water. "HELP!" he yelled at the top of his lungs.  Jose tried to help but he couldn't Thunderbolt hit his head on a rock and died ( well at least Jose thought he was dead). He flew away in sorrow. Thunderbolt lay there for a minute, then he came bursting up out of the water " HOOOOWWWW!" he howled. Jose heard him and flew back to him as fast as he could. "Your alive" Jose smiled. They then continued their journey. They stopped at a big brown rock. A figure was standing on top of it. "Hello Thunder" the figure said peacefully. "Who are you?" Thunderbolt asked. "Your grandfather" he said. "But that's impossible" Thunderbolt said. "He's dead". " WHAT!? You mean someone told you I was dead?"said Balto. "Yes, mom said." said Thunderbolt. "Well I'm not." Balto said. After that they went back to Thunderbolt's cave and explained everything. Balto said he just laid down and woke up 2 weeks later having people think he was dead. He really wasn't! The hero still lives on strong. But when time does come around, Thunderbolt is the dog.
