More than a year before Balto II Wolf Quest began, cloning has become the gift of life in which mankind has seeked to manipulate. In May of 2000, after successfully cloning animals, American scientists were planning to clone humans. So they started to travel all around America to find someone who is truly willing to volunteer for the cloning experiment, and they did. One man, named Mitchell Moore from the state of Ohio, volunteered for the experiment, and they took him to the labratory where they mostly cloned animals. From there, they took samples of his hair, skin, and blood. Then they started the cloning experiment. But something was going completely wrong. The cloning machines started to make clones that weren't infants, they were adults (unlike what happened in their tests with animals)! And even worse, the machines started to produce three hundred and fifty million clones of Mitchell! No matter how hard the scientists tried to cease the mass production, the machines continued to work without stop until they finally shut down. Now the scientists had a crisis on their hands to tend all these clones who are now adults and have fully developed minds and personalities, even different heights. Some were intelligent and some were not so very intelligent.
Due to this disaster, US Congress had decided that thirty thousand clones had to be sent to the Hawaiian Islands. On July 5, 2000, Congress renamed the entire State of Hawaii "Mitchell Island", named after Mitchell Moore, where these clones would live their lives there, but they could go anywhere in the United States when they wanted to. Mitchell Island was named as a US territory, but not a state, and then Mitchell Island began building a government and military of its own. It's military also allowed clones who were in the other 49 states to enlist in their military, since they are actually owned by the United States.
Not only has the entire US population doubled, but activities of criminality sky-rockected, and this caused major problems in American society and security. Later, the clones that have commited these crimes would soon unite as a terrorist group. Amongst them, a clone named Robinson Cletus would be the head of their new organization and they would start a revolution not just against United States and the rest of the world, but their own good clone brethren.
Mitchell Island and the United States formed an alliance to help get rid of this new threat that has undertook them until Semptember 11, 2001 when Al Qaeda attacked the US. When the US declared war on terror, the Mitchell Island mililtary made new assignments, for which parts of the world each of its military branches would fight at. The Mitchell Island Army, Navy, and Air Force would aid the US in the Arabian Peninsula while the Mitchell Island Marine Corps would take care of business of getting rid of the Mitchell Island terrorists in the Carribean and Pacific Islands and would team up with the US National Gaurd to find any hideouts the Mitchell Island Terrorists had in America.
Their efforts resulted as being very successful and they have wiped out almost all of the remaining Mitchell Island Terrorist forces, but rumors have been rising that the terrorists have been taking refuge in the cold and remote lands of Alaska where they plan to take over small towns in order to create a perimeter and to progress on taking over bigger towns, then cities and eventually, countries. Rumors also have stated that Robinson Cletus is amongst them.
Whatever happened to Mitchell Moore? He went to Mitchell Island where he would live the rest of his life there, and he also enlisted in the Mitchell Island Marine Corps to help aid his clones in a war that will never be forgotten. There, he will soon find himself along side with Balto and his friends and family.
Here are some questions you might ask:
1. Q: When does this story take place?
A: The story itself begins on September 7, 2002, six days after Aleu left Nome.
2. Q: Balto II Wolf Quest took place somewhere between 1925 and 1928. So why is this story taking place in 2002?
A: Because I wanted to make this story take place in a time era where terrorism was a big issue in international affairs, and that was the year when Balto II Wolf Quest was released. Even though Balto II took place between 1925 and 1928, but there was no exact date shown in the movie, or any types of old technolgy seen in it either (except for a lever action rifle), therefore, I thought it was safe to push Balto II up the timeline to 2002. I chose the month September because it is the month where summer comes to an end and it was also mentioned in Balto II that summer was coming to an end, and Balto also said that a distinct wind was a sign that winter was coming early. Plus, none of the events from Balto II or even Aleu were mentioned in Balto III Wings of Change (except Aleu was only mentioned briefly in flashbacks, but her name was never said in the movie, not even once!).
3. Q: Are the Balto characters the exact same ones in the first and third Balto films?
A: No, but they are characters that have the same names, looks, and personalities. For all those who played the Call of Duty video game franchise like Call of Duty 1 or 2, and Call of Duty 4 all the way thorugh, will know exactly what I mean.
4. Q: Will this story help fill in plot holes from the second Balto?
A: Yes, indeed. I am writing this story because I wanted to show how Rosie and her parents feel now that Aleu is gone. I also wanted to show what is Aleu's reaction now when she encounters a human being. Also, I wanted to point out why Balto is still living in an abandoned boat instead of living in Jenna's house.
5. Q: Will Kodi, Kirby, Ralph, and Dusty return in this story?
A: I hate to disappoint you, but no. Besides they would add very little to the plot, but Nikki, Kaltag, and Star will make a return and will add something important that will happen in this story.
6. Q: So when were Aleu and her siblings born?
A: I myself am making it somewhere in March 2001, because I know that it's Spring time when Balto came to check on Jenna in the beginning of Balto II, it is even mentioned when we see Aleu the first time as a young adult that she is more than a year old.
Now that we have questions out of the way, let's take a closer look at the new characters in the story:
Major Mitchell Moore- The very main character in the story. Born in Ohio on November 18, 1977, Mitchell has dark blonde hair and blue eyes and has an incredible amount of strength. Mitchell is intelligent and patient but when it comes to desperate situations he gets demanding. He joined the US military at the age of 18 in order to serve his country and to get money to pay for college. Later, he would soon quit military service after becoming a sergeant. After hearing that the Mitchell Island Revolution had begun, Mitchell then decided to sign up for the Mitchell Island Marine Corps and kept his rank of sergeant and continued to move all the way up to Major. His efforts would soon earn him the title as being one of the greatest marines on the field. Determined to be a colonel, Mitchell himself hasn't been able to prove to his clones that he is worthy for the job. Also, he has never seen the ugly side of war, nor does he wish to. He is a huge gun fan, and his favorite weapon is the legendary M1 Garand, and has a passion for wolves and huskies. Little did he know that his life would be changed forever when he sets foot on Alaskan soil.
Albert Einstein- The smartest out of all of Mitchell's clones. Albert is actually named after the famous genius himself. Albert doesn't do anything else but build up his knowledge about the world and the universe. During his free time he just reads a biology or physics book. He speaks in a voice that exactly sounds like Cat R. Waul's (from An American Tail: Fivel Goes West). Unlike Cat R. Waul, he is hungry for knowledge, not mice, and he is one of the good guys.
Stupid- A clone named after his pathetic nature, Stupid is a polar opposite to Albert in terms of intelligence. Stupid has two front teeth that stick out like a beaver's and has an IQ of 75. Stupid has endured many tough times trying to buy a home and get a job. He almost went on welfare until Mitchell said that he could live with him. From that point on, Mitchell gave Stupid the task of doing chores around his house. However, Stupid is very good at playing video games and has came close to beating Mitchell at a game of Super Smash Bros. Melee. He also is a loyal and funny friend to Mitchell and is willing to do anything for him.
Bill- Another of Mitchell's clones. There really isn't much to say about Bill.
Robinson Cletus- One of Mitchell's clones and the world's most dangerous terrorist leader. Robinson Cletus became evil when he started to have the greed of wanting to take over the world. Robinson Cletus is extremely cunning, and he is able to concoct many different schemes that could have the same outcome. Robinson' s strategy of taking over the world is to take control of small towns first so that he and his army have a small and easy start, then progress forward into taking over larger communities. The weapons for his army are usually supplied through black marketing, smuggling, and through negotiations with illegal weapons dealers. Robinson's early plans in the Carribean and Pacific have proven a failure due to the Mitchell Island Marines having more experienced and more well equipped troops. After these failures, Robinson decided to take a new strategy of moving up North to Alaska where the land was mostly remote and so that he has a more solid foundation to start with.
So, what do you think? Sound off
