Heno's mouth dropped. "Your....his mother?!"

"Yes." Carona said 

"I don't believe this."

"It was A shock for me too." Uvi said.

"What's all the noise out here?! I'm trying to sleep!!" Aken groaned as he stepped out of the cave.

"Aken! I didn't know Carona was your mother!" Heno said.

Aken had A stunned look on his face. He turned to his mother angrilly. "You told them?!"

"No,I told Heno. I have already told Uvi."

Aken gasped in horror. "You weren't supposed to tell them. YOU PROMISED ME!!"

"Your friends have the right to know." Carona said.

Aken turned to them. "These two are not my friends!! Especially the mutt!!"

Heno growled at him.

"Aken, my son...."

"BE QUIET!!" He yelled in fury "I'm not your son anymore!! I never was and I NEVER WILL BE!!!"

He ran past all of them.

"What was that about?" Heno asked.

"Is everyone okay?" Fala asked as she came out of the cave.

"We're fine. Aken just had A massive breakdown." Uvi said.

"Why?"

"Because he was upset that Carona told us tha......" Heno was interupted by Uvi,who shoved his paw to his mouth to keep him quiet.

"It's alright, Uvi. Fala knows."

"About what?" she asked

"About me being Aken's mother."

"Oh yeah. I've been known about that."

"Oh." Uvi said taking his paw off of Heno.

Heno stared in the direction that Aken had ran toward in concern.

 

Aken was curled up into A corner as tears rolled from his eyes. "That witch!! I can't believe her!!! She promised me. She promised me!!"

"Aken?"

Aken turned to see Heno.

"Go away!!"

"Aken, I want to help you."

"NO!! I don't need your help nor do I want it!!!"

"Aken....why are you so upset about this? Why didn't you want us to know that you and Carona were related?"

"I'ts none of your business!! Now leave me alone!!"

"I'm not going until you tell answer my question!"

"I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"

"ANSWER THE QUESTION!!"

"NO!!"

"YES!!"

"NO!!"

"YES!!"

"NOOOO!!!!!"

"YEEEEEESSSSSSS"

"ALRIGHT!!!"

Both of them calmed down. "If it'll get you to leave me alone, i'll tell you."

He took A deep breath. "The truth is.....my father was A dog."

Heno gasped. "Then.....that means....."

"Yeah. I'm A wolfdog."

"Well.......if you're part dog, then how come you keep giving ME A hard time?"

"Because being A wolfdog is A disgrace!!!"

"What?"

"Wolves are more superior then common mutts!!! If A stronger breed is mixed with A weaker breed, then that creature is A disgrace to world!!"

"That's not true!!"

"IT IS!!! Ever since I was attacked A wild dog when I was young, i've hated dogs ever since!! But when I grew older and Carona told me I was part dog, I was furious!!!"

"Ever since that day, I swore to myself that I would work hard to be A true wolf and prove that wolves are better than dogs!!"

Heno turned his gaze to the ground. "You're wrong."

"What?"

"You're wrong!! Dogs and wolves are equal to each other no matter what and that will always be true!!"

Aken growled and slashed Heno's left cheek.

"WHAT WOULD A COMMON MUTT LIKE YOU KNOW ABOUT EQUALITY?!!! WOLVES ARE MORE INTELLEGENT,FASTER, STRONGER,AND BETTER THAN DOGS LIKE YOU WILL BE ANYDAY!!"

Heno got up from the ground. "THIS IS WHY YOU'LL NEVER BE A TRUE WOLF!!"

"OH,PLEASE!! WHAT D...."

"SHUT UP!!! I'M TALKING HERE!!"

Aken backed away A few steps because he never saw this side of Heno before.

"YOU ALWAYS LOOK AT WHAT MAKES WOLVES AND DOGS DIFFRENT, BUT HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT MAKES THEM ALIKE?!!"

Aken eyes showed A little fear inside of them.

"Dogs have the same abilities that wolves have. And if some don't, they can learn!! SO STOP BEING SO NEGATIVE AND LOOK ON THE POSITIVE SIDE FOR ONCE!!"

Aken lowered his head to the ground and walked past him. "Your words mean nothing." He said as he passed by his ear.

Heno watched him as he walked off. "Something must be done about him."

 

That night, Heno couldn't get to sleep. Aken kept running through his thoughts.

He stepped out of the cave and gazed at the full moon. "Aken......why won't you accept dogs?" he said to himself.

"Because he is stubborn." Carona said,walking up to him. "He knows in his heart that dogs are equal to wolves, but his mind tells him that wolves are more superior. In other words, he knows you are right, but he just won't accept it."

Heno stared at the ground. "I feel so bad for him. His past is making him not who he is."

"What do you mean?"

"If that wild dog hadn't attacked him, Aken would probably be diffrent than he is today."

Carona thoght for A minute. "Your right. But it's not like we can go to the past and change what happened."

"Yeah." Heno yawned.

"I think it's time for you to rest." Carona said.

"Okay." He walked back inside and fell asleep.

 

The next morning, Heno awokened to the bright sunlight in his eyes.

He looked at everyone in the cave and noticed there was something missing:Aken!

Heno ran outside and checked all of the areas that Aken would normally go, but he was nowhere to be found.

"Where did he go?" Heno asked himself.

"Heno! What's wrong?" Uvi shouted as he ran to him with Fala and Carona behind him.

"Aken has disappered!!"

"What?!" Uvi and Fala said unison.

"Yeah. Didn't you notice that before you ran out?"

"We thought he was in his usual spot like every morning." Fala said.

Heno sighed. "What should we do?"

"Nothing." Carona said.

"Huh?"

"We shall do nothing."

"But, Carona...." Uvi started.

"He'll be back." she interupted him "In time,he will return."

She walked away.

"What does she mean?" Heno asked.

"I don't know." Fala answered "Carona is strange like that."

"Well.....we shouldn't worry! If Carona says he'll be back, he'll be back!" Uvi said.

They all walked toward to the cave. "What does she mean?" Heno repeated in his mind.
