Heno struggled to get back on his feet and decided to run while jumping occasionally. Surprisingly, it worked. He managed to catch 4 fish in his mouth while running it through the water. Meanwhile,Aken had caught 23 fish,while Fala caught 12 and Uvi caught 16.

"Aw man!" he thought "They're already ahead! I can't lose this!!" 

He sprinted his movement with his mouth in the water.  He caught 6 more fish while passing Fala and Uvi. He caught 15 more fish as he caught up with Aken.

Aken had already had 30 fish and was headed for the end of the path. Heno was right next to him with 30 fish in his mouth as well. Aken was shocked at this as he thought, "Impossible!! How can this mutt have gotten to be neck-in-neck with me and have gotten 30 fish?" He had A displeased look in his eyes and shoved Heno with his body.

Heno looked at him as if he were thinking,"What's he doing?"  Aken shoved him again,only harder, and nearly knocked the fish out of his mouth. He made another attempt,this time 3 times as hard, and knocked Heno into the water. All of the fish had escaqped as he struggled to get back to the surface.

When he got back up,he saw that everyone had reached the end of the path and he walked up to them,soaking wet while breathing hard. "Who won?" he asked Carona. "Aken was the first to cross." she answered. Aken looked at him with A boastful look on his face.

"So,that means the winner is.......Heno!!"

"Huh?!" Everyone said in unison.

Carona glared at Akeen. "I saw what you did. You,Aken,are cheater and Heno had 30 fish before you knocked him over. So that makes him the winner."  "That's not fair!! I crossed first!!" AKen shouted in outrage.

"Cheaters never prospert." Carona said.

"That's right!" Fala agreed. "You said it!" Uvi added.

Heno smiled to see he had won. Aken growled and sneered at the sight of this and turned away to home. "That jerk!!" he thought "I may have pushed him off,but I crossed first!! I should've been the winner!! Oooh,Carona's gonna pay for this!!"

Later that night,Fala and Heno went out to hunt food everyone else. "Congrats on winning." she commented. "Well,it's not like I officially won or anything." he shrugged.

"I know,but if Aken hadn't have pushed you off, I still think you would've won."  Heno looked at her in disbelief."You really think so?"  "I know so." she said smiling.  Heno blushed A little.  Suddenly,they heard A rustle in the bushes and saw A caribou pop it's head out.  "Jackpot!" Heno said.  He and Fala went after the caribou as they chased it to A field where other caribou were.  They took the chance and hunted down as many as they could.

After that,they returned home and brought back about 14 caribou carcasses. "Whoa!! Excellent work,you two." Uvi said. "Indeed." Carona said.  Everyone started eating away at their dinner except Aken,who was at his usual resting place. Heno felt A little worried about him and brought one of the carcasses to him.

"Aken,have some caribou." he insisted.  "Hmmph. I don't accept food from mutts like you!" he sneered.

Heno had enough of this. "Okay!! What is your problem?! What do you have against dogs?"

Aken turned his gaze to him with coldness in his eyes."Just shut up and leave me alone."  He took the carcus and went to go to A part of the area where he could eat in peace.  "What is with that guy?" Heno thought.

The next morning,Heno awokened with A stretch and A yawn.  He looked at the sun with A cheerful expression on his face and could tell that it was A beautiful day.  "Amazing,isn't it?" Uvi said beside him.  Heno gasped in fright as he said that.  "Yeah,I guess." he said as he bowed his head in depression.

"What's the matter?" Uvi asked.

Heno sighed. "I just can't figure out what Aken has against dogs. I mean.....what exactly is the major diffrence between dogs and wolves besides their behaviors and survival skills? Why can't he just accept that we're the same type of species?!"

"Aken wasn't always cruel against dogs." Carona said as she walked out of her cave to meet them.  "When he was A pup, Aken had always been kind and innocent and always loved dogs. But one day when he was wondering the woods alone, A stray dog attacked him and caused him serious injuries."

"That's terrible." Heno said,almost in A whisper.  "Yes,it is." Carona continued  "As he grew,Aken learned what it truly meant to hate. Remembering how he was attacked,he thought that all dogs were like the one he met. And so, his hatred towards dogs grew more and more stonger every time he even thought about them."

"Wow." Heno said.  "I know." Uvi commented.

"I never knew Aken felt that way. It must have been rough to have been attacked like that. After hearing this......it.....kind of makes me feel sorry for him."

"Everyone does,Heno." said Uvi "I felt the same way when Carona told me the story."

A thought had just occured in Heno's mind. "Wait A minute! How do you know so much about Aken as A pup, Carona?"

She stood there in silence for A few seconds and said, "Because.........I am Aken's mother."
